@VoltageTHD I know, but some people like me worried about the story and writing of the games which is why I made this rant almost 2 years ago. I didn't and STILL don't think it's the end of the world. I just made a statement about what SEGA might need to do with their writing for characters. I'm not too worried about it nowadays because they've been doing a great job so far in Colors. They even managed to show Tails being more of a friend than sidekick. This was only opinion-based anyway, ok? :)

I agree wholeheartedly with this rant. Amy even said that she was going to try to be more independent at the end of Sonic Adventure, but Sega/Sonic Team seems to have forgotten that. T_T

At least she has more character development in the Archie Comics... Same with Knuckles and Tails.

I agree with you. I grew up with Amy being a sweet girl who can care of herself just fine. And she acutally knew who Sonic was. How she confused Silver for Sonic I'll never know...or how she got on the roof. And can turn invisible. But I digress. I wish they'd put her back in her sweet, Amy-ness that I grew up with. The shy one who went to Never Lake to see Sonic but didn't say anything. She was great in Sonic Adventure, kinda obesessive again, but great, but now...Ehh...

This is so true! I think Sega should step it up too. If anything, They usually focus on one character only...Versus Nintendo who focuses on most if not all characters so that hasn't anything to do with this BUT!! I do still get your point..

@ChaosPunishment5 Hmm...I don't think I know how to give any good tips, but if I had to think of one, it'd be to look at some tutorials and such online and keep practicing on those until you've perfected them. As for the Sonic characters, I learned how to draw them on my own. It's always best to outline your picture before adding any details (like I did with the drawing Amy video). It's what most artists/animators do when drawing to make sure the porportions are correct. I hope that helps.

You did really good in your rant here and I have something to add for the knuckles thing like how he is suppose to be on Angel Island shouldn't Sonic be on Mobius?? I mean Sega has practically dropped the idea of Mobius all together and take them to earth for no reason. Also Knuckles wouldn't completely be the Lone Wolf if you count the Chaotics.

@lOlZmErOx I don't know, but somehow they had him on Angel Island in Sonic Adventure. And, thanks for pointing that out about the Chaotix, but that's where I get confused since SEGA at that time did claim Knuckles to be a lone wolf; at least in the Sonic and Knuckles Collection for PC.

I didn't mean in the show Sonic X, but as far as the story in Sonic games went during 2003-2006. I felt that at the time, the games were concentrating on Shadow more until then. Amy's just felt like a little kid who loves Sonic for no apparant reason besides that he saved her a few times.

Don't like the way she's been portraited in most games as a stereotype annoying little girl who's like Chi-Chi when angry.

All she really needs is some character development. And maybe being less bland. Take a slow aproach for once, Amy, rather than sprinting at Sonic like a dinosaur all day long.

You have a point, there. They picked her up and made her official for CD after seeing the first incarnation of Amy Rose in the Nikki(Sonic) manga where she actually did look like a hedgehog version of Peach. I find it funny how they changed her status from being originally Sonic's girlfriend in the manga to being a "self-proclaimed" one for the game series.

But, I loved how she was protrayed in SA1. I just wish she had stayed that way, but they made her a side-line character ever since SA2.

I just wish she could have better character development like the others, but SEGA paid WAY more attention to new characters like Shadow than the most important ones in the series. Amy has great potential as the first female in the game series and she's one of those characters who stand out more. Sure, many agrue about her being "annoying", but unlike Mario's Princess Peach, she takes care of herself in many situations. Even after she's kidnapped, she tries to find a way out.

Instead, I get Burning Blaze as the official "first super female" who gets this title on her first appearance. Amy had about almost 20 years to become one. I know it's not takened seriously by others and it sounds silly, but if it was DONE RIGHT, she could make a good super in my opinion.

And, that's how I felt. They forget that Knuckles was the original Sonic Rival compared to Shadow. In fact, Shadow was not even supposed to come back, but they screwed it up when they made Heroes. -__-

In my opinion, Heroes was a setup for the story of the Shadow game. SEGA figured if the game sold well, that they could make a franchise out of it. It was said in one of my old issues of Nintendo Power in an interview. It's a good thing it didn't. Then, when they finally wanted to go back to concentrating on Sonic, they forgot how to make a good Sonic game, but they're getting there.

And, I think you mean Mighty the Armadillo. He was one of the original Chaotix that SEGA abandoned and forgot.

Idk. So far, they have been listening to the fans lately (it seems that way) with the newest game coming out under the working title "Project Needlemouse" and they were kinda close w/ Unleashed (imo). Since they claim that it's 2D, I have faith that they're going to handle it right. I just hope they don't pull a last minute gimmick like before. Either way, I hope SEGA pulls this off.
