  • obvs 7 ppl were looking for a white ass in the back window...

  • i taught the double dunk with out hanging in the rim? " including his signature move - the double dunk. He would dunk the ball, catch it with his left hand, switch the ball to his right hand, bring it back around to the top of the basket and jam it through again, all done while still in the air on a single jump, and without hanging on the rim."---> i copy paste from wikipedia

  • LMAO @ 3:00 Don Cheadle got son'd by a nigga wearing boxers

  • tedediah: nigga please what you smokin- Dwight Howard has NEVER i repeat N-E-V-E-R touched the top of the backboard, what you thinkin is he slapped a sticker on the backboard a few inches over 12' but the top of the backboard at 13'- NEVER touched it. go online and research it he has never done it !!! shit even Jmaes White has not done it,he has come within a few inches but still no dice !

  • Will somebody guard me please?

    I think they shooouuld!

  • My favorite part of the movie!

  • Ha there's no net on the rim typicall

  • That dunk is amazin but it would be no where near as good as the GOAT's real double dunk. In this he hangs on the rim whilst GOAT actually dunkd den caught it n dunkd it again without hangin on the rim.

    utterly AWEsome

  • I came here from wikipedia to see that dunk. I cried.

  • yea i went to the same prep school in norf carolina as da goat!! #laurinburg institute!! he a legend fasho

  • ouuu shit man double dunk!? its soo amazing

  • funny how people shorten 'the greatest of all time' to GOAT.

  • Manigault is an Nyc legend greatest never to make it

  • this movie is never mentioned as one of the great sports movies, but certainly should.

  • classic

  • i would love to see proof of him or anyone for that matter touching the top of the backboard. hell James White who is 6'7-6'8 and has CRAZY hops comes close but even he can't touch it(and this guy has done a between the legs dunk from the foul line. i'm old school and remember when david thompson was at N.C. state and the stories about him that he touched the top of the backboard and yet NO ONE ever put it on film?? won't beleive it til I SEE IT !!!

  • @use2slam2 Dwight Howard touched the top of the backboard in one of the dunk competitions a few years back

  • Manigault was particularly famous for his leaping abilities on the basketball court, including his signature move - the double dunk. He would dunk the ball, catch it with his left hand, switch the ball to his right hand, bring it back around to the top of the basket and jam it through again, all done while still in the air on a single jump, and without hanging on the rim --> in Wikipedia ...but here he dunks the ball and catches it with the left hand .and dunk's it again ...

  • @MrBballerr

Yeah, this is just a movie actor. Don Cheadle was unable to duplicate the dunk even on an 8-foot rim without a net and had to hang on it - probably standing on a stepladder too. LOL!!!

Manigault first dunked in a game - one jump, 2 dunks, and never hung on the rim. No one has been able to duplicate the dunk since then - Dr. J., David Thompson, Jordan, Vince Carter, no one has ever done it besides the Goat.

  • This was a TV movie about "Goat" starring Don Cheadle. Unfortunately no one has footage on him. One of the legendary street players in NYC history.

  • @emmettk ,there is footage of Earl Manigault

  • just gimme the fuckin ball man!

  • what a great movie dog!!!

  • French Montana " Like The Gault, changed them dollars for them quarters. round top of the backboard, got it if you ask for it." Henny & 44

  • Why argue with a gotdamn moron?

  • he never hung on the rim though with his double dunk

  • @ngolimit2 That's the prob with movies about guys like GOAT, Bruce Lee, Ali. You can't mimic them. No matter what they can do in the movies, it's nothing compared to the reality.

  • good movie

  • Is that don cheade???

  • "Cheadle" ...yes it is.

  • yea thats don cheadle this is an awesome movie

  • I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Despite that, I do love that line...."yeeaah, Brooklyn, uptown is here!" That scene correctly captured the rivalries between the boroughs of NYC. At the same time, given the rivalries, a Brooklyn bus driver letting uptown cats on his bus?.....I don't know about that one!

  • Yeah but how's the bus driver gonna know that they're from uptown?

  • I'll speak for the drivers I knew. Drivers back then were from the neighborhoods that their line went through. They knew who the riders were and from what neighborhood. Now, also, cats from certain spots had a way of dress. During the times I went uptown, I would see everyone on 1-2-5 with hoods on (yes, I said it because I saw it!). So, cats could recognize were you were from in a minute!

  • In real life they coulda killed them then...Imagine if they had guns on them...Im a 32 yeared old Greek guy from Athens...were u from?

  • Αnd how r the drivers now?

  • THATS 2 MOTHERFUCKERS.

    bahahaha nice

  • hahhahha thats 2 motherf*****s

  • "it's raining black people in new york city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" i don't remember where i heard that but it seems relevant.

  • What They Take Off Runnin For?

I Never Heard Of This Movie Before

  • If the ball touches the backboard first then you block it. It is goaltending, if it is going up or down. because once it hits the board it has a chance to go in

  • no every in the nba oins the ball agisnt the backboard

  • pinning the ball against the backboard is different from the ball hitting the backboard first

  • Bang on mate... should've switched hands for the reverse...

  • @sink32002 ITS STREETBALL!!!

  • @sexxxysate who gives a fuck, we play by the rules when we play, if they dont want to play by the rules they can get the fuck off my court, or i will make em get off my court!

  • Yeah, they ran cause they needed 2 points to win and Earl dunked it and put it back in and they called it 2 points. They grabbed the money and broke cause they knew they was about to get their ass whooped. Love this movie.

  • Classic Hoop movie.

  • I love this movie

  • This is my movie. That double dunk was a GO!

  • don't do too much drugs!!!

  • 3:34 He's worried about a damn jacket with half of Brooklyn on his ass. LOL

  • but thats two

  • Great film

  • actualy the second shot didnt count

  • actually it did, thats why they ran out the park

  • maan how the hell you gonna make a freakin basket twice lol even if you did that move only the first one counts after you touch the ball legaly

  • That was Earl's move,he was famous for his double dunk.I hear what you're saying though

  • yea i hear ya... would love to see that move in the slam dunk contest lol

  • hell ye i think that wuold win the dunk contest

  • where can i watch this online

  • well if ya havent noticed you are watching it online lol

  • 2:22 Harlem Shake,lol!!

  • Lol, "Converse". That's great product placement.

  • Was that goaltending at 2:47?

  • no the ball never touched the rim

  • ya but the ball touched the backboard and then was blocked. That's goaltending.

  • no goal tending is if touch the rim or make it verbrate while the ball is on the rim and i dont think goaltending was back then anyway

  • Trust me, it's goaltending.

You forgot to say that goaltending is also when the ball is on it's way down.

  • well never solve this this way we gotta ask more ppl and on top if all dat goaltneding wasnt a rule back then anyway

  • It's streetball, that's not goaltending lol

  • thank u

  • dude dont act like you know a bunch of shit about basketball. If youve played both organized ball and streetball then ud know that in streetball no matter what or how you blocked a shot its a block get over it streetball is very different to organized ball in terms of leniency and that nature.

  • connie hawkins got schooled by THE GOAT...so fuk hawkins

  • Connie Hawkins never got schooled by the GOAT,what are you talking about? He actually beat the GOAT in a 1on 1 matchup back in the 60's.But Connie isnt even in this clip.Ignorance is bliss

  • Connie isnt even in this scene,so he didnt get schooled by the goat.Earl Manigault was great and so was Connie Hawkins

  • Thats two muthafuckers!!!

  • I'm barley 18 so I never got to see either of them play but most people who have watched both Earl Manigault and Joe Hammond play will tell you that Hammon was the true Goat.

  • It depends,Hammon was a shooter, the GOAT was a leaper with quickness and speed, but according to Pee-Wee Kirkland,he said that Connie Hawkins was "one of the greatest,if not,the greatest",but remember there was Herman The HElicopter,Jumping JAckie Jackson,Pee-Wee Kirkland, alot of streetball talent

  • Yeah but none of them compare to Joe.And Connie Hawkins wasn't even considered close to the best in the NBA.

  • Connie Hawkins was considered the best small forward as a rookie.Connie Hawkins was passed his prime when he entered the NBA,he was a 28 year old rookie with bad knees,Larry Brown said he was the best, and Bob Lanier said he was the ultimate finesse player,Connie Hawkins in his prime is a top 5 baller

  • Connie Hawkins is probably the best small forward to ever play basketball,Dr.J copied Hawk's moves and dunks, fancy dunks didnt exist until Connie Hawkins came along

  • True.I knew that Connie was old for a rookie(I thought he was 29) but I didn't know about his knees.Either way I don't think he was on the level of the destroyer.

  • Connie Hawkins was probably the baddest street baller ever,he had athleticism, leaping ability, quickness, handle of a guard, mid range jumper, hook shot,he was 6'8 or 6'9, biggest hands ever,he was long,he was the first player that could play every position. The Destroyer was just known for being a deadly shooter.Connie could do it all.He dunked on Wilt Chamberlain at the Rucker

  • Get up Wilt,LOL.

  • Shooting was all Hammond needed to do.When you shoot 90% the rest of your game doesn't need to be great, even tho he could do more than just shoot.

  • yeah but if you smother a shooter, you got him, shooters dont have handle, they need screens and picks,Connie Hawkins was arguably the best 1 on 1 player ever.Remember Hammond was only 6'1,a taller defender can give a shooter problems

  • Actually the rest of your game does need to be great,if you're only 6'1 you need to be able to break down guys with your dribble, because if you can just shoot, you are 1 dimensional,Hammond did drop 50 against Dr.J at the Rucker and Connie did drop 55 against Jabbar in the post in the NBA.They were both great

  • In most cases you can't afford to be one dimensional. But in Joe's case he could just pull up and hit it almost every time.He didn't have to worry about blowing past anybody.

  • Yeah but if someone is playing defense on you and they're smothering you,you cant just pull up or else your shot would get blocked.Scottie Pippen was 6'7 if Pippen played defense on him,he might shut him down, same thing with Bruce Bowen.Look at Reggie Miller,he needed screens, without them he wasnt effective

  • I don't know.I never got a chance to see any of these guys play so I can't really say who is the best.I'm just going by word of mouth.

  • But remember The Destroyer was from the 70's,The Hawk was from the late 50's and the 60's,you need to speak to the real older people, thats if they're still alive,The Hawk also came before The Goat

  • Where can I watch this online for free?

  • are there any real footage of earl manigault from back in the days?

  • Yeah on vhs tapes, theres footage of Connie Hawkins and Wilt Chamberlain,I believe they were playing with Earl also

  • if he would have made it into tha nba

    we wouldnt have jordan items

instead of jordan it would be goat
