Interesting, it might work for biceps especially the brachialis the low biceps part. I was never a friend of this excercise, but I will try it I promise you Scott. I prefer hammer curls as a second excercise to a combined set with bar curls or pullie biceps curls.
@ScottHermanFitness hey, can you please explain what muscles are being worked? Great vid but I'm looking for specific muscles and sometimes I'm not sure which are being used. Thanks, great vid
@McEddi3 Yes thank you but there is an inner and outer head of the bicep, as well as specific workouts that target upper and lower parts of each head and some that work on peak, or just mass, or strength, shit like that......yeah
That's a great workout! I like to take more of a full range motion, and bring the dumbbell up under my chin and turn the dumbbell inner;so it isolates just on the outer long head of the bicep! Great work!
Scott you should mention in your vids what muscle(s) are being isolated in exercises such as this. I know a lot of people know already, but some don't. I guess in this one it's kind of obvious (biceps) but I think this would be helpful. Your vids are great though! ;)
@bigmacrr Yes I really really want him to do it, if he did it in all his Home & Gym videos it would be amazing. Just leave what muscles it works in the description please
@bigmacrr This excersise is more focus on the brachialis but it`s better if you do hammer dumbell curls on a low incline bench angle (no supination). An inverted barbell curls works really well too.(prone grip)
@bigmacrr This excersise is more focus on the brachialis but it`s better if you do hammer dumbell curls on a low incline bench angle (no supination). An inverted barbell curls works really well too.(prone grip)
Scott! I have a problem. My left pec is bigger than my right pec, I believe this is because my right arm is stronger than my left arm so when I do chest workouts, like bench, i tend to muscle through with my right arm, taking stress off my right pec. What workouts can I do to even this out? I've decided to lower the weight a little, still keeping it high weight low reps, my goal with this is to have perfect form.
Also, I have shallow pecs. What can I do to fill them in more?
@pojo205 That's because your body equalizes the pressure and makes your left side work harder to keep up with your right arm, therefore it gets a better excercise - bigger pec. I have the same problem by the way.
@pojo205 Does one of your shoulders slump (is lower) than the other? I have one that is that way (caused by wearing booksack on one shoulder in school when i was young), and it makes it really hard to do certain exercises. Also, of course, the muscles don't look the same. My spine is actually curved at the top half (only). I've tried to balance it out, but...nada
also you can get too much protein if your consume like 100 grams in one go your body wont handle it and will get flushed out throw liver as pee, now scotts advice and mine have 20-30 grams of protein every 2-3 hours with carbs and healthy fats this is how we keep in a anabolic state and maintain and build muscle go and check out his meal plan,
mehganfox has no clue what she is speaking about im a personal trainer and i get great tips from scotts channel, there are many ways to train scott will get hypertrophy and stength due to the reps he does and heavey weights. now there are many other ways to train good but everyone has there own way and if it works like scotts does ther u go. plus protein gets utilised to build and maintain muscle mass if you dont workout and eat protein in tons will turn to fat.
wait wha? i wasnt commenting this video. i was replying to someone about about jay cutler...
true protein and is essential in everyday diet but bodybuilding to extent of hypertrophy training puts a lot of stress on your body. youll find that most people who have been doing this all their lives stop after they are 40-45 years old.
what i mean by unhealthy is, do you know how much you are taking in year after year after year? ingesting this much for hypertophic gains is slowly (cont)
@cooljiain making your liver work overtime. you right, excess protein will turn into fat but im not talking about an "esthetics" or bodybuilding point of view. im talking about a long term HEALTH point of view.
look im a personal trainer myself.. i honestly dont want to have a youtube fight with you, im gonna say this for people reading comments or whatever. go ask a nutritionist or specialist in terms of dieting, etc. personal trainers are not qualified to give nutritional advice. (cont)
@MehganFox look im a nutritionalist and ersonal trainer and i have studied and yes some people say is unhealthy but i think is healthy because everything is bad for you in some way, at that age you cant train as hard anyway as your immune system weakens and muscle deplete thats why and obviously rest weeks and changing workouts up means you wont overtrain or stress muscles. all types of trianing has benifits period and tears muscles thats how they grow. so really get facts right b4 commenting,
@zaffe93 This excersise is more focus on the brachialis but it`s better if you do hammer dumbell curls on a low incline bench angle (no supination). An inverted barbell curls works really well too.(prone grip)
everyone to their own. sigh.... what you see is his contest form. ifbb professionals, arent always ripped 5% body fat. he looks like any normal person at the gym except bigger.
@MehganFox well yeah...but hes health its risk...whit all the roids he consumes...hey dont get me rong i lubb roids i use them my self...but you know in that large amaunt of consuming can be quiet dangerous...but thats just me...
do you think people get into bodybuilding hypertrophy training to be health nuts? your in it to win. a what ever cost it takes. you will be surprised how much top level bodybuilders know about the science of bodybuilding. if you've been hypertrophy training for a while now, you would know that it is not that safe to start with, even if your not on "'roids". do you know how hard your liver has to work to process all that protein (ie. 1.5x lb muscle). your body doesn't like it.
that why most people wont hypertrophy train their whole life. "getting huge" is a teenage mentality thing. a lot of people that i have met in the industry stop hypertrophy training after a while at a certain age and focus more on functional and health goals as they start to understand the risk etc.

@MehganFox okay im a personal trainer and protein get flushed by liver yes but its not unhealthy its not toxic like alcohal and exess protein will get flushed out as pee, and training in this way is not harmfull there are so many benifits to this way of training as there are with others as long as you see image changing and weight going up it working. everyone changes workouts now and then to keep it fun and body guessing so dont comment of a decent trainer scott if you dont know shit.
