Ya know what’s funny? This song has more Biblical Truth than a lot of other Christian music. I went to a concert (I think it was a superchick concert) and Disciple and one other Christian artist (I think It was Britt Nicole) and you know what? Disciple was the only band to actually pull out their bible on stage and read out loud to everyone! They talked about God, while Superchick's DJ dude was all about the ‘show’.

Wow this is one heated debate. Here's my two sense. This music IS close to some satanic music. This band though has proven itself to be Christian over and over again. I think it is the lyrics that we need to think about. Also I don't think God is how they are portraying him. I think he is a god of love and gentleness. Great Song and not to be Holier than thou but going to Heaven is really easy all you have to do to go to Heaven is Believe that Christ payed for all your sins. God is the only way to Heaven not God + good works that wont get you there only God will. Baptism is good to do but that doesnt get you to Heaven. Remember good works doesnt get you to Heaven and baptism is trying to work your way there and you can't. Look at Ephesians 2:8,9 John3:16 I Corinthians 5:21 and many other Bible verses.

Just noticed the dialogue here. I think people make a mistake when they think their personal musical preference is any indication of whether or not something is "pleasing to God." As I understand it, God likes when we love one another as he loved us. He also likes when we tell people about his love. Some do that acoustically. Others seem to "rock the house." I think God's pretty happy with all the above to be honest--though I personally don't like acoustic music -_^.
I agree with saffy, that this is definitely a Christian band! This is just another example of that everyone can come to God no matter how hard your life was before, and if they make heavy music like this... you can guess they've had hard pasts. @rusda2 and whoever is right should apologize first for the "up-stir", and in the bible it also mentions that "many" songs were being played in (think it was the castle of David? Solomon? not sure, pretty new so can't recall on very much, and believe it mentions that there will also be many different songs sung in Heaven), and many forms and praise can be used. The important part is the lyrics i believe, how the music sounds doesn't mean much i don't believe as long as the praise is TRUE.

@rusda2 All of those verses weren't really meant for you, as for the music. I've not had any negative effect myself from listening to Disciple, RED, Thousand foot krutch etc. Not long ago, when i listened to such bands as Korn, Disturbed, Sevendust, and other bands such as those i can definitely say it gave me a more aggressive attitude. But disciple, RED, TFK, Demon hunter, etc have not had that effect on me. The opposite really.. It's just the type of music i like, not to say the old fashioned

Great Song and not to be Holier than thou but going to Heaven is really easy all you have to do to go to Heaven is Believe that Christ payed for all your sins. God is the only way to Heaven not God + good works that wont get you there only God will. Baptism is good to do but that doesnt get you to Heaven. Remember good works doesnt get you to Heaven and baptism is trying to work your way there and you can't. Look at Ephesians 2:8,9 John3:16 I Corinthians 5:21 and many other Bible verses.

So to clear all this up.
This music isn't satanic or evil, just because it has a sound like secular songs means nothing. instruments are like Rusda said just noise. Just something to stomp your foot to.

Just noticed the dialogue here. I think people make a mistake when they think their personal musical preference is any indication of whether or not something is "pleasing to God." As I understand it, God likes when we love one another as he loved us. He also likes when we tell people about his love. Some do that acoustically. Others seem to "rock the house." I think God's pretty happy with all the above to be honest--though I personally don't like acoustic music -_^.

I agree with saffy, that this is definitely a Christian band! This is just another example of that everyone can come to God no matter how hard your life was before, and if they make heavy music like this... you can guess they've had hard pasts. Also, the lyrics is the most important thing, and the lyrics are awesome!

@rusda2 and whoever is right should apologize first for the "up-stir", and in the bible it also mentions that "many" songs were being played in (think it was the castle of David? Solomon? not sure, pretty new so can't recall on very much, and believe it mentions that there will also be many different songs sung in Heaven), and many forms and praise can be used. The important part is the lyrics i believe, how the music sounds doesn't mean much i don't believe as long as the praise is TRUE.

@rusda2 Well God saved me when I was 11 at VBS. He then called me to preach in 1997 while I was a Junior at App. St. University. I then enrolled at Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem, NC. I had to start over as a Freshman and graduated 4 years later with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Toughest part was the four semesters of Greek. Piedmont is an Fundemental Independent Baptist College. I know God and I know God's Word. I hope you multiply who you are in Christ.

I've not had any negative effect myself from listening to Disciple, RED, Thousand foot krutch etc. Not long ago, when i listened to such bands as Korn, Disturbed, Sevendust, and other bands such as those i can definitely say it gave me a more aggressive attitude. But disciple, RED, TFK, Demon hunter, etc have not had that effect on me. The opposite really.. It's just the type of music i like, not to say the old fashioned

I'm a pastor and it is not the music that makes something holy it is the person behind it. The piano is not an evil instrument but when played by Elton John it is not putting forth a holy message. The guitar and piano are just instruments and neither are evil or holy. How they are used and who uses them is all that matters. Read Psalm 150

Any unsaved person or saved person using the piano to play secular music will not glorify God. To glorify God one must praise Him. Only God can judge the intent of ones heart. Did you notice that the very same music(God made) we use to worship Him. Can be used to worship the devil?
Just because a music sounds instrumentally peaceful doesn't mean you can't worship satan.
God gave man music. Man decided to worship other god's though. And make music about other things. satan didn't make it. We just chose to go a path away from God.

@rusda2 Obviously you don't understand anything at all. All music with good intentions and that praises him is good. God enjoys hearing his children praise him in every tongue and every way. Either through actions or music or just by thoughts we can show Gods love. You are mixing human beliefs that this isnt music because you don't like the style of it. Who are you to say this isn't music? Obviously the holy spirit hasn't dwelled completly in you yet

@shiiinnaazzz sorry my friend but u are mistaken and it could cost u severely. satanic rock music is not Godly music. "Jesus" lyrics do not make evil music acceptable to God. I will not argue this with u, u are free to believe what u want but it is proven fact that certain types of music cause real damage to the brain and nervous system while others sooth, calm and uplift. this music is the brain damage type & the more u listen, the less u are able to discern truth from error/good from evil.

It will give you more than enough info to understand why this is not Godly music. @rusda2 you are incorrect it is 100% Godly music. read the lyrics he is thanking God for giving his life for us, as we should all do it doesn't matter how it's done. Remember Jesus ate with tax collectors and befriended prostitutes, and i guarantee you had he come today instead of 2000 years ago he would have been in the middle of some mosh pits. I'm tired of "Christians" who try think we should live only listening to Michel W. Smith or the songs we sing on Sunday morning. We should be trying

@copznrobbas to reach those who have no interest in the love of God. I am overjoyed by the fact that we have entered "the enemy's" style of music and have made it our own. Christian music is evolving and it's a good start, but we still have so much work to do. We need to get a stronger grip in the hip-hop and pop scenes as well. if we stay stagnant and don't evolve the lost will have no interest in becoming saved. I don't mean to offend, but I'm afraid your definition of godly and God's differ

@copznrobbas it is 100% satanic music. you cannot add "Jesus" lyrics to satanic music and make it good music. the music itself is no different than the metal garbage that the world likes.
He may very well have vistied some "mosh pits" but it would have been to lead the lost out of the pits, not to "enjoy" the satanic music.
Michael w smith uses satanic symbolism on his album covers and no doubt his music is the same.

If you must continue living in ignorance who am to tell you not to. ohh and Sunday is not Pagan or Christian it's just a day... if i chose to worship and praise God on Tuesday he would be totally fine with it.

1. @copznrobbas I guess so, I follow Jesus who wrote the ten commandments. He said "remember the Sabbath day (our "saturday") to keep it HOLY (it already is holy, now you keep it that way)...the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.
Nowhere does He tell us to pick our own day. yes u & I should praise/worship God everyday, but everyday is not holy, only the Sabbath day is & He commands us to remember that by honoring Him on His Holy day. sunday worship is of pagan origin, research it.

2. @copznrobbas if a billion tell me I am wrong makes not one whit of difference & does not prove u are right. the majority is looking for the smooth path most pleasing to the flesh. this is true for "christians" as well. todays "christians" want to get as close to the world as they can so they are not rejected as Christ was. u urself attested to this in ur post that u were "overjoyed" by "christianity" adopting satans music.
one of us is in ignorance about this...but its not me.

look up charles haugabrooks, whintley phipps, john lomacang, reggie smith, lady love-smith. I like reverent uplifting music thats appropriate in church, and has meaning in the lyrics instead of headbanger garb like this "disciple".

@JETBLAST88 well at the risk of repeating myself, putting "Jesus" lyrics with satanic music does not equal Christian music...it's still satanic. It's like "holy" hip hop and "christian" rap, it just does not exist. there's nothing holy about hip hip, rap, rock or this head banger metal. but to each his own, our choices will be weighed in the end. this type of music certainly will not lead anyone to God.

@Slasher1251 this kind of music shuts down the frontal lobe which is the key part of the brain used to communicate with God thru the Holy Spirit. if your frontal lobe is shut down then you are just like an animal with no ability to reason things out, hence you cannot discern good from evil. Just because you like the music doesnt mean God does. I am not a betting man but if I was, I would bet everything I had that this music is satanic, and i would be right. take care friend.
