Just some thoughts: I have the same vest, it's awsome and holds tons. I would put MRE's in back bladder area...keep quick needed items in the front. Nice vid., thanks!
The leg pouch is a Molle canteen / multi purpose pouch. Putting the flap in, it is used for a 1qt canteen. Flap up, it is a general purpose pouch. BTW, great videos Ryan!
I think you pouch is actually for a canteen and the pockets on the side are for water purification equipment, or a small knife. Great video, I only wish I had all of that stuff!!! I'm still at college (not sure what the American equivalent is... But I'm out of high school), an I'm slowly building myself one of these sets. British laws say no to anything that is even slighty dangerous though so it dosent look too hopeful for the AK-47 of the glock.
the easiest way to know wether your kit is military issue is look for a NSN (national stock number) all US issue will have this. it will look like this.
Yes. The mask I have originally came with a syringe with antidote or something to help with nerve gas. My mask is surplus so the syringe is expired, and was taken out of the box.
when testing the fit of your gear keep in mind the noise it makes. some guys hang all kinds of crap off their rigs, and when you walk (run) it is really loud. The purple and blue "painters masking tape" can be used to quitely secure items and wont leave a reidue like duct tape. grat vid series, im too lazy to make my own but your videos will save someones life oneday, keep up the good work.
Yes stealth is extremely important. Ranger bands are also excellent for reducing noise and preventing things from rattling together. The only reason I would be hesitant to use painters tape is because of the color. If you are trying to evade someone or just stay concealed, even a small amount of blue could give away your position. Also I'm not going to be hanging a bunch of stuff. I want to keep it absolutly as simple as I possibly can. Soon I'll make a vid of my pistol belt/Y harness LBE. THX:)
I'd recommend keeping all ammo on your trunk, if possible, weight on dropleg platforms makes it difficult to run. My setup includes a dropleg SERPA for a 1911, and thats the only weight I put on my leg.
Awesome series bro. Wish you lived closer. You are exactly the type of guy I want buddied up with me if we have to go WROL. It's quite a job coming up with this type of system in your head, and another thing entirely to actually put it together. Thanks again for all your hard work. Keep on crankin' 'em out.
something to keep in mind, common sense, but the tactical light will give away your position, maybe not the laser but the light will so keep that in mind if you weren't already thinking about it, also I was watching Band of Brothers & at night when they are looking at their maps, they cover themselves so that the light wont give away their position, when my dad was in the military, they used to have to put the canvas tents up good enough to where light wont shine out of the tent, good video
Thanks Brother. It means alot. I have to cover my ass though, there's alot of asswipes out there ready to start firing their asswipe comments at me, lol! Hope you have a nice Christmas
good set of video's. just one question, are you setting up your vest as a tactial response vest or a survival vest? some of the items you have in your vest are great from a tactial point( asp baton, handcuffs, police radio, ect.)but would not work to will in a survival mode.If you are looking for a civil response vest then i would think like a police officer then( cuffs, baton,Mace, radio,Pistol ammo. All in All you do make very good videos so keep up the great work. Washington State sheep dog
Thanks Bro. It's hard to say. Alot of different scenerios could happen. I may be able to stay home but have to police the hood. I'm may have to totally evacuate the entire area. If the SHTF like mined people will prob form survival groups for saftey. I think things like FRS radio would be good in any situation. I think it would be smart to have the vest setup for the worst case scenerio. Leaving my home and fleaing away from the chaos to the woods. We will see though. I'll do an update. Thanks
Wow, thats a lot of stuff! Load bearing equiptment is one thing that I am deficient in right now. I have a suspender-type shoulder strap system that clips onto a pistol belt, which currently holds a 2-quart canteen, two mag pouches, and a knife. I also have a big campers backpack that I haven't messed around with yet. These videos have motivated me to get my shit together.
Yeah man, I may lighten the load. I want to get zip cuffs, instead of heavy metal ones. The Baton is kinda heavy too. There are lighter ones, but can be very expensive. We'll see what happens. Thats another thing I have to figure out, How to have my pack and vest if I need to leave home. Your system sounds setup better for a pack. Thanks Bro
Thanks Buddy. My camera is screwed too. It's a long story but initialy I dropped it on a rock in the woods, and now important function buttons have fallen off. I don't think I will be able to record w/the tape anymore. I can only recored connected to the computer. I'm gonna play w/it today though. I have a still camera that can take shitty clips. I'm gonna have to get a new one, maybe after Christmas. Then I can bring everyone HD vids.I'm looking forward to your LBE vids. Later Bro
Excellent trilogy! I completely agree with what you said in your first video at around 3:00 - that's what I say to people who think I'm being paranoid for preparing myself for a possible disaster (breakdown of society, or any kind of accident).
This looks like an excellent vest to have with you when you're in trouble, the more you can carry around, the more useful the vest is IMHO.
Thanks Brother. I wear gloves for different reasons, and different gloves for specific tasks. Also wearing them in a video, gives an added "touch", intstead of my reg, dry hands. The ones in this vid are my tactical shooting gloves. They allow my hands to breath, grip the weapon effectivly, and give me much more dexterity than work gloves. Thanks Again Man, and be safe.
Ryan, Keep an eye out for my next video updating my GHB. I just ordered a pouch from Maxpadition that looks just like the one in this video. I'm going to use it for my canteen and other small items.
One thing u might want to add to your L.b.e. Is a bulletproof helmet
