miss diana ross, supreme diva, empress of pop, queen of motown, one of the all time great voices, she does not have power like some singers, but her voice is so unique,no one else ever sounded like miss ross, her phrasing is utter perfection and crystal clear, she can touch you in a way with her voice that few other singers have ever been able to match, she is timeless, and in a very sad world where every five second wonder is called a legend and an icon miss diana ross is the real thing.
THANK U SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG I COULD SO RELATE TO THIS SONG. I HAVE DEDICATED THIS SONG TO MY UNCLE LOUIE DE LA CRUZ WHO HAS PAST ON N MET HIS MAKER. THERE RARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THAT MAN HOW MUCH HE MENT TO ME BUT HE IS VERY MUCHED MISSED. LOVE LIL BIT
@whatigot2say Well it has been alledged that he was a victim of sexual abuse. I can't remember if it was his sister who said that one of his father's brothers raped him. Whatever the case, Marvin had a lot of demons. He already considered suicide even back in the 60's during what seemed like a happier period for him on the surface. Many years ago I read David Ritz's biography which began as a collaboration with Marvin before he died, and it was a real eye opener. I could relate with a lot
@KrfNYC2 I FEEL U..HE TOOK THAT MIKE AND JUST SANGGGGGG...DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO TRY...NO ONE TODAY CAN DO THAT..AND YEA..AMERICAN IDOL SUCKS...RIP MARVIN..U THE MAN
@bgroupie Black women are genuine, unique, and exotic and we come in many shades, my dear! “Get to this”. The darker the berry the sweeter the juice. Dummy!
Marvin gay sounds better when he's singing softly than 99% of singers do when they're belting notes. And when Marvin started belting notes himself...game over.
You only have to listen to his voice here and you smile. Marvin's voice is silk! He didn't have to try...I love the way he's just sitting down so humble when DT comes up to him. Wish I could have seen him in concert....
I wonder what he thought when he watched her meteoric rise to superstardom. she had mega success compared to the rest of the motown group. He had to be somewhat amazed at what she achieved.
@yurherenow I agree with you....i think that whole studio recording thing was probably a huge beat up. diana and marvin continued to admire each other.
Aaw great... I watched some girl do a rendition of Diana and Marvin's Stop Look Listen, she's got a great voice for such a young kid so I thought I'd tell people about her... name's olivia sung channel's oliviaS19meliphtogos. Check her out she's got a lovely voice, she's only 14.
Any chance anyone on the planet can direct me where I can see the rest of this show. Its about an hour long and I remember watching it as kid, would be eternally grateful.
I do not know where you can watch it on the internet, but I bought a copy at Melodies & Memories in East Point (East Detroit) Michigan about 3 weeks ago. Maybe you can look them up and give them a call. Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot, I'am on the other side of the pond, in Scotland, UK. Could you kindly tell the full name of the dvd? if it was a dvd copy you purchased. I can't seem to find it on their ebay store. Cheers, you are gem.
The Dvd is called An Evening With Diana Ross, but I've had the VHS for years and it is called Live At Caesars Palace. I have also seen it on ebay with both names. Hope this helps. Also if you can let me know about any TQ records that have not been release in the U.S. I would most appreciate it. I would like to keep my collection going, but if not I appreciate it anyway. Take Care.
what's the big deal that diana and marvin had differences? anytime you have brilliant, creative minds especially artists thrown together, inevitably sparks here and there will fly. but i think the motown group was like a big family who all worked hard, fought & loved together to accomplish greatness. like in any family, siblings often bicker... that doesn't mean they hate each other. looking at this clip, i can see that kind of love clearly displayed in both diana & marvin's eyes.
SORRY but i had to do this im kinda freaked out. in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck
Does anyone have the footage Of Marvin Gaye singing this at her other concert where he was wearing a gym warm up suit? He destroyed it. Please post!!!
You sure right, I had to look at Diana in a totally different light, after watchin' this, you can tell she really loved and enjoyed Marvin, someone needs to do a book with her, about Motown and its stars from her perspective, would love to get the scoop on Marvin, Anna, Barry, Leon Ware and of course T-boy Ross. She is the like one of the last ones, she should set the record straight for the fans, see Im just 31 an grew up in the 80's
and by that time the hate for her was at an all time high...
if you watch her mother's day youtube interview with barbara walters you'll really have a different perspective on diana. but you're right i wish she would give her perspective on the whole Motown thing, bet it would be quite enlightening.
i wish they hooked up. i guess they were not eachothers type. but they had such great chemistry. i think there was a time when she was tryin to get closer to him though... i think she mentioned in his last days she remembers him inviting her to the studio.
well by this time they had known each other for almost 20 yrs and had the shared experience of poverty, aspirations, mowtown, superstardon and a medioric rise to fame. genuine fondness here.

Look up "Diana Ross/Surpemes Let/Sunshin In P2". On that clip, from the Supremes final show in Las Vegas, there's another bit where she goes into the audience & asks him to sing w/ her, and, he really let's loose!! Lou Rawls Knocks it out there, too!!
When I see these video's I cry and halla out loud and Thank God for his Presence in Us and U-Tube for bringing these things forth. I wish the children could understand these things.
