as a singaporean, i will help clear the doubt. indeed singapore is made up 4 main races, however, our national language is ENGLISH even though our national anthem is in malay. want to know why?? google it please. the other 3 languages are known as 2nd lang or mother tongue. still not convinced? if MALAY is our main lang, then it shld have been compulsory in sch for all. but too bad, its not. ENGLISH is the one. and for people who are still not clear, SIngaopre's main language is ENGLISH

I thought the interviewers did a fine job and Connie was her usual charming self. She is truly a gift to us all. She smiled and laughed a lot during the interview and she seemed very comfy to me. One other thing, I thought Connie tried to peek at Susan during part of her song to see if she was crying since she confessed she was "one of them" :)

Anyway to clear up some of the previous messages, Malay is Singapore's National Language, but our Lingua Franca is English. And no, we do not speak with a british accent most of the time.

The two interviewers are unused to dealing with kids as they're normally intwerviewing professionals and experts. They were quite uncomfortable throughout the whole thing, which kinda ruined it for both them and Connie.
