@PennG0VQY I should know Penn I've owned one for 6 years. Mine is mounted in my shack under the bench. I think if I remember right just one antenna socket.
@m0ogy I've managed to find the dual band 10/6 antenna, but not a 2/6/10 antenna which I would have thought would be the sort of antenna you would want to use on this radio. I quite like the look of this radio were obviously if you've only got one antenna socket then you are but limited if you cannot find an antenna that will cover three bands. What is the tuning knob like, doesn't seem to have a big tuning knob on the front of the radio, I need one that is easy to tune, like the FT 2900

@PennG0VQY The only Quad band vertical I have seen is a Diamond hygain mobile antenna it ends 8900 in its model. I keep meaning to buy one and fit it on a radial kit. I'm sure if you got it high in the air it would work very well. On my FT8900R I run a Diamond V2000 Triband Colinear. The radio is a nice rig. I bought a Kenwood TM 2/70cm rig........the flash big screen APRS model a year back to use in the house. I've not even tried it yet.....LOL. . The tuning knob seems OK.
LOL... I think i worked you just after the first station on the video?? as i recall the conversation you had with the M6 i think. Pitty your video ran out as it would have been great to hear myself waffle :)
hi there, could you tell me if the FT-8900R Quad Band has two antenna terminals on the back? Thanks a lot mate

@m0ogy I wonder if it would be feasible to use good-quality splitter box and then use a tri-band antenna covering 6/2/70 plus the Gain master?

@PennG0VQY That would be a good idea.......like a duplexer ect. very good idea
