  • my coaches use almost all the gymnastics minutes. they say they made them up. i cant trust them now.

  • is the tiny one in the purple mickayla from mls857?

  • yes, I am surprised you noticed! lol

  • @thetallgymnast yes it is, I saw that too :-)

  • She is telling them to keep the front foot turned out. Correct foot positioning on beam has front foot turned out

  • what are you telling them to "turn out"?

  • it's a dance term. she wants them to turn their knees slightly outward, because it's prettier.

  • @Kimba1113 I know you wrote this ages ago.. but also the reason for turning out the legs is not just that it looks prettier, but secondly that it promotes correct hip alignment, keeping the hips straight and even with the leg above horizontal is near impossible with a turned in leg..

  • @dixietess also, thirdly, using turnout ensures the correct muscles to be working in holding the leg in the air.. If you are paralell the quadriceps are overworking and it makes it more difficult to keep the knee locked and straight, and in the position the quadriceps often become quite bulky.. a turned out leg uses more of the hip flexors, inner thigh muscles and deep pelvic muscles as well, aiming for a leaner line
