why are we criticising the Austrian night-club performers for their "lack of authenticity" when the country singers here in USA haven't even bothered to try to "fake" a hillbilly accent with their tunes for the past 30 years. "country" music died in this country 30 years ago, let's not be to condemning of another ethnic group "faking" their cultural heritage. gimme a break! USA is the most commercialized country in the world ... all about rap & whatz happn with martin sheen.

@ tischklaus - all Americans aren't stupid, or unaware of your country's wonderful history - my family is visiting in June, and we have enjoyed reading and learning more about Austria. I think Austria was an excellent leader/center of its empire during that time :) I once had a history teacher who insisted that "history is best viewed from a distance" ... please don't judge Americans by some uneducated ones who are rude when they travel, or our politics by the news...we don't all feel that way.

Oh yeah...that´s a typical Tyrolean evening, for stupid Noth German, japanese or American tourists. It´s show only performed to prevent tourists from watching authentic Tyrolean culture. For authentic Tyrolean dances browse for videos by user "Dancilla", all of them with German dance names !!!

fundamentally austria is inhabited by GERMANS, so it's normal that austria reminds you of germany

The austo-hungarian empire was bigger than the german empire and we austrians were the head of german for a long time. The only thing you know is that hitler came to austria and that we were a part of hitlers empire for 7 years. we are not proud of it!

@tischklaus Deny it all you want but Austrians ARE Germans, the HRE (Holy Roman Empire of the German nation) was dominantly ruled by Austrians, the German Confederation was the exact same and even created by the Congress of Vienna, Austria is included in Greater Germany and Austria was part of Germany until 1866 and even means "East" "Reich" of Germany, if Austria had defeated Prussia in 1866 Austria would be ruling Germany now, German-Austria in 1918 was a pre-Anschluss before in 1938 welcoming
