yes they reccomend it...we did it just to be safe

@G5midnightblue08 yes. if you are running stock airbox with stock filter and the lid ON with the snorkel, its usually jetted to a 280 in warm weather and richer in colder.

i ordered the fatty but it hasnt came yet. with the powercore 2 it doesnt make a whole lotta difference on flat ground,but you will notice it when accelerating and hill climbing. also it sounds alot nicer then stock!

i had a 2003 blaster, loked almost the same as yours, even had the fmf stickers in the same place, lol. i had the power coreII and a fatty, but mine was a big bore and had a jet kit with the k&n air box, i must say it was pretty quick.
