This laptop was gr8 1 n half yr back whn i got it. It was d best small gming laptop tat time. But now new laptops with better graphics card have come up like the studio series with ATI RADEON HD 4570 512 Mb card. SO i recoomend the studio 15 or if you want small then go for Studio Xps 13 which has a Nvidia 9400 card.....but price is also high. Studio 15 is value for money but its lil bulky.

All Xps M1330's stand a equal chance for the GPU defect whether its new or old.

Nvidia GPU sucks...! Dell doesn't suck. Even if the GPU fails Dell replaces the whole motherboard without any questions. So no worries. Only about 30 % chance is that it may be affected, its not that its inevitable.

Your card lies just below 8400M Gs. Performance may be more or less same. Whats your vista score for Gaming graphics & graphics for aero. For gaming mine is 4.8 & for aero its 4.1. Base score is also 4.1.

You cant compare a Xps M1530 with Xps M1330, both laptops are meant for different set of users. 1530 is more of a gaming laptop whereas M1330 is more sort of professional business type, easy to carry around but still doesnt stay behind in performance. Ypu are comparing a Nvidia 8400 M Gs with 8600 Gt, nowhere they can be compared.

Yes this game could be played easily but not with complete high settings. There is a program called FRAPS which will show FPS when playing game. You could also overclock the 8400m gs a lil to get the game lot smoother but its risky considering the M1330 gpu issues.

Did the m1330 struggle with the requirements of the game at all? It looked like u were getting more than playable frame rates. You wouldn't happen to know an exact fps rate during the game would you? I'm thinking of getting the m1330 (with 8400gs of course) and would love to b able to play ac.

I have the reloaded version & also the leaked version worked perfect with no issues. Start the game with assassins creed_Dx 10 if you have vista or else for Xp Dx9. Or right click on exe & set compatibility to Windows XP. Do you have Dx 10 installed/updated?
