@Sprawlify Crust was coined by "Hellbastard" when describing Amebix I guess. I think it's called Crust cause the sound is generally dirtier than traditional punk. Also could be an allusion to how alot of crusties are essentially hippies, who live in squats and don't wash, have dreads, vegans, etc. Really cool subculture.

yeah i guess, its hardcore punk i suppose. i dont know, the line between crust/crust punk and hardcore/anarcho is kinda hard to tell. alot of "crust" bands totally suck. and alot of harcore politcal bands are great and heavy.

I wouldn't say alot, most crust is just power chords, but it's not really common progressions i guess. The picking rhythm on guitar is hard to get down though.

Every genre has a little something of its own to bring to the table. You can't like everything, that's for the eclectic people that aren't douchebags about music.
