Not everyone needs a University degree,but everyone needs a decent basic HS education. Every University degrees does not mean that you will not get your hands dirty or a sore back.

Nurses, Geologist, veterinarians,all get dirty.The thing that all of the rising economy's have over the US is that they have dramatically improved educational importunity's for all social classes where we on the other hand think that as long as the elite is 1 step ahead of the poor, they are doing well.

America pays at least twice as much per student for K-12 than any other nation. It's a dumbed-down system devoted to teaching to the lowest functioning, non-English speaking student. We can thank the Jewish Lobby for so many good things...one is the fact they started pushing for open borders back in the 60s & continue to do so. Shutting down all immigration & sending dual citizens to their preferred country (Israel) would solve many US problems.

Education should be about more than simply getting a job.

There should be more free reign for people to learn and not just be taught.

We shouldn't be trying to make sure there are some educated and some un-educated people simply to mean some menial tasks can be done.

We should be educating everyone to find simpler, easier ways to do those menial tasks.

There are some major reasons why the American public educational system can be considered to be broken. But the core of the problem is that it is a market based system.The quality of schools vary greatly from neighborhood.It actually depends where you live (usually based on race & economics). Even within some of the larger school districts in this country that holds true.

And because there can be great income inequality between individual school districts, the quality of education can vary significantly from district to district. As a rule, the poorer the area one lives in this country the more likely the schools will be underfunded and offer an inferior quality of education.

The quality of that commodity usually varies in in the US based socioeconomic levels of neighborhood public schools or school districts. Most poorer neighborhoods have schools that are relatively underfunded as compared to more wealthy areas; they don't retain good, effective teachers; the schools have less resources; etc

In short even though it's public, it's not equal.

Bullshit. The more diversified ("unequal") an education system is, the better. It's a squandering of time, and money to try to give everybody the same education: The more intelligent students will be bored, the less intelligent ones won't be able to follow, and in the end, nobody learns anything. Once, the US education system was the best in the world. Thoughit has been badly damaged by busing, and affirmative action, it still ranks among the best, thanks to some inequality left.

It might be personally self-satisfying on your part, to see certain groups be relegated to menial jobs or not make it all, but it is not good for the country as whole. Education, whether you like or not or whether you understand or not, is an investment not only for each person but for an entire country.

Not everyone needs a university degree, but any student who works hard and is qualified should be able to attain. It only helps the country, economy, society, etc. It may personally hurt your ego and sense of self-worth that Ribergoberto, the son of a Mexican immigrants is work on his medical degree, or Leroy, who grew up in the projects is an engineer, but you need to get over that.

Yes, once again, I believe it is a right of every student to have access to a quality education. And if they work hard, get good grades and scores, they should be able to go to college and earn a degree.
