  • This is incredible. I'm an aspiring composer myself - I've only just recently been looking into programs like these. I'm using Miroslav Philharmonic because I can download it for free :P But this sounds breathtaking. Very jealous. I don't have the 800 to shell out for one of these EWQL programs, but when I do!!!!!

  • Hi, when you made this in 2010, which East West product were you using? For instance, was it the gold orchestra, or additional strings product, or what have you? I'm not sure what they were offering then compared to what they have now. Thanks for any info. (I'm shopping, myself for similar)

  • 2:00 sounds most realistic.

  • What is the name of this Vivaldi piece?

  • THIS IS GREAT. Good work man! favorite.

  • @Steve Thank you for your aswer ! And re-re-bravo ! even if that's not the "real thing", you're not so far ! ;) I'm still and always very impressed !

  • I think the song you're thinking of would be Summer or Autumn?

  • @AlleKennenEiner The general feel of it reminds me of "Storm," but the intro is different, so that one's out. I'm going to listen to every Vivaldi song I can find now and try to figure it out; I have a feeling it won't be so laborious of an endeavor though. :)

  • Brilliant.

  • Very impressed ! What kind of material do you use, what master keyboard ? Do you think a Dell Centrino Duo with 4 Gb Ram and a E-mu xboard 61 could be ok ? Re-Bravo !

  • @nontsag Absolutly! Its the recording program or "interface" you need to worry about, when it comes to the sound libraries like EWQL, just make sure you have 2 extra hard drives, one for installing the Libraries, and another for your storage for tracks and you should be good to go! Good luck and thank you for listening!

  • It's good, but let's be real , this is nowhere near the real thing.

  • @AxisOfOrion I think EWQL has come very far, if you listen to demos from there new Library HOLLYWOOD Strings, i think you might re-consider! BUT! I do agree with you, this library is not even close to a real orchestra! Thanks for listening!

    SML

  • @SteveMLloyd No problem, it's a good job you've done. And I do agree. The Hollywood strings are really good. Again though, I personally prefer the real thing. But for demos and low budget productions they are fantastic.

  • @SteveMLloyd

I wouldn't compare it with a real orchestra.. let it be an emulation in its own amazing way. It sounds great nonetheless with alot of feeling that you, the composer, put into it.

  • @AxisOfOrion why would anyone have anything bad to say about this ? Considering what made these sounds are computers its damn amazing !!

  • Huge Vivaldi fan here , I could not get a natural concerto sound from Garritan GPO,

    East-West(and your skills) is amazing-!

You have captured the spirit wonderfully-with one exception....

Vivaldi always breaks off for solo violin solo when he can -he must have had ADHD :-)

  • @will4ward LOL Vivaldi did use alot of solo breaks!!! I think he was just getting lazy! :)

  • Love Antonio Vivaldi Pieces :D

  • How long did this take you to complete??

  • @jdjep Once i had in mind the direction i wanted to go, this piece took me around 8 hours to complete. Not including mixing or mastering!

  • Precision work........nice...very wel !

  • can't get any better than this!

  • Steve I love ur compositions, sounds very professional.Great job i believe some day u will score for a block buster movie i have gut feeling.

  • OH MY GAWD! You inspire me so much this is in my favourites.

I'm an going to use EWQL from now on.. and I thought Edirol Orchestral was good

  • This is great. Could you give me a list of all the string samples you used on EWQLSO? I've written a neo-baroque piece and I just can't it right on 'play'. Your dynamics and articulations are absolutely stunning.

  • 1:14 to 1:32 & 2:27 to 2:45 is PERFECT Eighteen seconds that inspire me!!

    18 Segundos de inspiracion total!!

  • wow, have never heard ewql like this , or maybe i have but assumed it was real strings! great job! would really like to see the project as its playing in whatever vst host you use, seems like one could learn tons from you

  • Great programming!

    Did you study composition??

  • Stunning score! Thank you for such a tasty piece. It overflows with the energy within. I like your work.

  • awesome job here man. there must have been a lot of work spend into the finetuning and realism here..

    good job

  • Hello, What is it? symphonique orchestra sample or classical sample ?

What's size of sample which include this sound of violin?

    Thanks.

  • Please post a tutorial on how to get such beatifull sound :)

  • Où est-ce que je pourrais télécharger ce morceau !?? =D

  • are you using the standard east west reverb?

  • @IAmMichaelMyers Yes its a DSP reverb, cant get any better then that!

  • @SteveMLloyd How many different types of samples did you end up using? Like, did you stack a lot of marc and stacc over each other?

  • I'm pissed

  • Love the piece and the sound! I've been using EWQL and Symphobia for a long time now and can't even get close to this perfect sound. Some small tips on how to mix the individual instruments the way it should be done would be very appreciated.

  • Comment removed

  • very cool.. it's nice to hear EWQL in a classical context... nice job on the instrumentation and mix... well done...

  • Nice job Steve. Which DAW do you use ?

  • Nice!

  • Your "modern Vivaldi" is absolutely amazing! :) Love it.

I'll try to play this on piano.

  • Holy crap!! I am installing EWQLSO as we speak.. and you're making me pee a little with anticipation of its potential amazingness with this track. This really is the most natural sounding fake orchestral arrangement I've ever heard. If I didn't know it was MIDI, on a casual listen I might not even be able to tell. Insane. GOOD EFFING JOB MAESTRO!!

  • Ooh, I like this! It sounds like a mix of Vivaldi and Hans Zimmer. Great work!

  • Incredible! I'm actually writing my own composition with Symphonic gold at the moment. Won't be done for a very long time. But this is just unreal! Great job!

  • How on Earth did you get such an amazing sound with EWQL?! This is nearly indistinguishable from a real orchestra.

  • It all comes down to the mixing and voluming! I cant stress that enough for young score composers! Think how a natural instrument should be played and volume it in its natural state, given that EWQL ( yes it is THE BEST ) it does have a lack of natural articulations, luckily for our amazing recording programs like Pro tools and Cubase : )

  • @SteveMLloyd But whats so special about Cubase or Pro Tools? I mean, the new Cakewalk X1, is what i'm planning to get. And it completely looks like Pro Tools, and has all the solid professional features and all. But isn't the Cakewalk Mixer as good? Currently i'm using Reason 4, for mixing, and recording music, cuz my Cakewalk Sonar 6 isn't compatible with Windows 7... What can you suggest?

  • @Meyanoos

    The program itself is not that important;

you can use ableton, frootyloops, cubase, ..(or any other vst host)

to run good soundlibraries like ewql, tonehammer, cinesamples, ...

  • @SteveMLloyd When you say "voluming" do you mean adjusting the key velocity to activate different samples or do you mean literally adjusting the volume of each instrument/key played in order to get the result sounding more realistic.

Which EWQL Libraries did you use for this piece? It sounds fantastic!

  • @DV7Dave Hey Dave, When i talk about voluming what i mean is, once you have a track recorded i adjust the volumes for each little part in that track, and i dont mean just dropping or raising the fader, I mean going into a volume control and dropping out string sections, or raising them like you can hear at the end of this peice. When i get alittle more time, im going to make a video on how i actually do this. Thanks for listening dave! SML

  • @SteveMLloyd Thanks for your reply Steve! Looking forward to the video tutorial.

  • another great piece! I'm very happy you posted as the last baroque piece you wrote I favourited and showed to many people. I just recently completed a baroque esque piece for solo guitar. It's been recorded, I'm now in the process of bringing it to youtube and would like very much for you to hear it.

  • absolutely!! Please let me know when you post it!

  • This one goes to my favourites. Excellent use of EWQL Symphonic Orchestra. :)

The haspichord sometimes sounded a bit synthetic though because of it's repetitive pattern. It's not a big deal, the overall composition sounds great.

  • Yeah i know, i cant find a decent harpsichord articulation for the life of me!

  • @SteveMLloyd Have you tried "Pristine Harpsichord"? it's the one I use! search Ouverture de "La Grotte de Versailles" (Harpsichord) - Jean-Baptiste Lully and enjoy it, I made it!

  • I love it!! Good job! =D

  • Could you tell me when your own composition starts? :) Another Stunning piece of Baroque music. I urge you to continue on your Baroque Musical! Regards, Dan.

  • 1:02 is mine from there!

  • @SteveMLloyd Incredible! You clearly have a 'nack' with baroque music. Should we be expecting more of your Baroque Opera soon? hehe :P

  • NO! not anytime soon! : ) Im done for a while haha

  • @SteveMLloyd haha, thats a real shame. I'm hoping to get this library someday but i should really invest in a better PC first :(.

  • You really should! This library is the best!
