I just laugh everytime an old movie or TV series has someone pulling over just to use pay phones to call someone. I know present day movies evolved (as u put it) from old classics, but still, it's a bit laughable at times when ubiquitous stuff like mobiles don't feature in them.
I hope that some day one of the other books will be made into a movie. There were years ago rumors about a movie of "Without Remorse" but it was never made.

So, you used Jerry Goldsmith's "ST: First Contact" music; nice choice. The President was the best hero I've ever seen in a movie like this. Everyone tries to villify him, but that President was excellent.
