To those who don't want to or just can't fly do that with a snow speeder (like me), there is always this: 1. use a vanguard (rocket trooper) 2. get near the AT-AT 3. shoot it's neck (it loses the most damage when shot between the "head" and "body") 4. as you're reloading, toss a mine in front of it's path, so that it steps in it 5. repeat steps 1 - 5 until it is dead.  You will never have to get more ammo to kill it, because it takes only 3 mines and 7 or less rockets to kill it. Lol.

Put mines on the side of the snow speeder, it's a glitch - just drive the snow speeder along side of the AT-AT (the side with the mines) and it will decrease the machines health immensely.

Why is it called a snow speeder? Is it made of snow? Is it powered by snow? Does it only work over snowy terrain? If they were in the desert, or over the water, would it not work? Do they have different speeders for those places? Why is a tow-cable launcher standard issue? How many scenarios are there that a speeder suddenly needs to grapple onto something? Is it commonly used for towing things? Just curious...

@Taniseth It's basically an armoured speeder that has been modified to operate in the sub-zero temperatures on Hoth. The use of 'Snow' just indicates what the terrain was at the time, which is why you'll find the Rebels/New Republic using Swampspeeders, Sandspeeders etc. As for the tow-cables...they may have needed to tow things sometimes!
