i have a 1997 nissan maxima, my friend swears up and down that his 06 tiburon gt will destroy my car, he is ignorant enough to say a trailblazer would beat it, but anyway i have thought about swappin a vq35de into my maxima, my car is an automatic, would it be wise to keep an automatic or try to find a manual 2002 or 1997 maxima to race with, and if i keep the 97 what would i need to do in order for the swap to be successful?

honestly i am a big civic/acura fan but nissan did a pretty good job.

but hey Honda/Acura/Nissan/Mazda/Subar­u/Mitsubishi are japanese cars.

so u know 1.8 turbo thats like 290 hp max 300 against 3.6 turbo thats like 400hp u cant argue with that.

thats y i never race with japanes higher class cars with my 2000 EM1 with JDM B16A because that vtec wount help agains 3.5 V6 cuz they got so much torque.

but i would love to see a B20/Vtec civic against a maxima stock 3.5 V6!

I went to the track bout 2 weeks ago, there were some guys there that end up being my friends BF crew they had a Civic, I had a bad time high 17's so they thought they could of beat me. It's a swapped VQ35DE with 350z UIM, UTEC, and 200 shot of nitrous, slicks, plus a good deal of weight reduction including lexan windows.

The amazing thing about it is that's a stock bottom end VQ35!

i believe that this motor is not the vq30 motor, this guy did a swap for a vq35de motor, thats why it ran a 10 second quarter mile.

Ok, relax. The guy driving the Civic is a friend and we were not TRYING to destroy the civic. The civic is a street car, daily driver for the owner and runs low 11's thats a fast car. This was a fun race not a Honda vs. Nissan race or debate.
