I've heard this laugh in the original and dubbed into over a dozen different languages, and this scares me the most.  It's because in the beginning, he sounds like he doesn't know whether to laugh or cry, and apparently, I find that terrifying.

Also, I know it may be a bit cliched to quote Dante, but how awesome would it have been if he finished with "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate"?
