The Swiss ball offers a dynamic surface to perform a variety of exercises. The element of instability the ball creates helps activate and challenge your whole body especially you core and abs. If your bodyfat is low enough these exercises will help with the 'six pack'. More importantly you will feel as good as you look.
I AM the model. I'm Adam Ford. I'm almost 40 and use the ball with some other basic exercises and common sense lifesytle. What you don't see in the podcast is me running back and forth to start and stop the camera...
Thanks for that production insight; it makes these great videos seem a bit more human, I suppose you had some several takes, too.
.
If I had to do that with camera team watching I think it would be harder to make it look as perfect as you've done here - it seems that video photography is your second area of expertise.
Hi Adam, I am a registered Osteopath of ten years experience. I have only just discovered your work via utube. Everthing you are saying seems so safe and sensible in a time when much of this information can be misleading, driven by sales or without knowledge of the types of injuries/conditions that these exercises can help. Thanks
I just bought and previewed this DVD - it looks great! It's all about core stability and functional fitness with NO CRUNCHES! There are exercises on here you won't see anywhere else.
There are some crunches, BUT there's a big diffference from the sloppy crunches you usually see. Proper crunches on the ball are particularly effective because the ball allows your spine to move into extension thus training the abdominals through a full range of motion. Beware of flat surface ab exercises and machines that promote muscle imbalances and postural distortion. Thanks for purchasing our DVD!!!
No lie. I could not find a stability ball workout series that wasn't the typical Pilates-Fluff-Geriatric stuff. Found this of all places on YouTube, and went to Adam Ford's Ridgeline Fitness site and bought the four volume set. For about $60, you're getting a basic to advanced comprehensive ball workout that you can do anywhere. Throw in a little cardio, and who needs a gym membership. This is the way to build solid, functional strength. FIVE STARS.
I plan to buy your ab dvd. My hubby used the swiss ball after recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon. I just started using the ball, and I can't believe how hard you have to work to maintain form. You really feel the burn. I love the one where you press against the wall and push upward. I guess that works your glutes as well?
really nice form and technique, and great variety too-you should be proud of your work
