  • I have a 2000 mustang that i was thinking about doing stripes on the whole way down the center im trading some stuff and a guy is going to order me the stripes but its not for the exact car its just 30 yards of 12 inch wide stripe and i was wondering if you think someone with no experience could do it? i saw people use soap and water to put theirs on and i saw people use absolutely nothing just stuck it on which is better and why?

  • nice

  • hey please answer this!?!?!!? would a 202 vw cabrio convertible look good with some racing stripes???

  • painted $200-2500, vynl is 400-800$

  • does anyone know the size of the gap? 1 inch or 2? also this isnt transfer taped. is this the wet method? im trying to find a video on how to install vinyl stripes on my mustang..

  • The price should be 600.00 wholesale-retail at the dealer they dealer around nine hundred.

  • If you had this done by a shop, or a dealer, how much would they charge you for the whole thing do you think? Is it a lot, I know paint is, but vinyl shouldnt be ridiculous right.

  • Hmmmm, white is tough i would say try on a rag-pure alcohol-rubbing alcohol not wintermint it is green, maybe a little turtle wax-it comes with a little rubbing pad, if you don't have the pad then the yellow rags at costco that are microfiber. Love those all the bodyshops are using those now-they leave no scratches. be cautious though and careful on the edges of the vinyl. Best Luck,

  • I have a 2008 mustang and i had white stripes put on and i'm have a few stains i can't get out. They are yellow/tan. Do you have any ideas? Thanks

  • Do you think this is something a regular person can do? I'm looking at getting a Mustang in a year or so and would want to put stripes on it. I think I may be able to handle it myself, but I'm not really sure. I'd be afraid to make a mistake. It seems like something simple enough to do yourself though.

  • Hello

if you think you can do it, then give it a try. If you are buying an aftermarket kit-and the price was perhaps one hundred to hundred and fifty-then if something did go wrong and you had to say purchase another kit-you would still break even. A installer is probuably going to say 150.00-200(depending where you are located. And with two kits you will most likely be less stressed if you do make a mistake. patience.

  • Thanks!

  • yea got a 2008 gt mustang wanna do stripes and a lot of places dont want to do it cuz of the hood at least not tape everyone telling me to get them painted on do u know how much this would run . cuz 600 is alot for tape here in chicago it runs 300 to 400.

  • @LAKES303 hi i was just wondering if you ever got the stripes put on with vinyls or painted n how much it cost? thanks

  • thank you, putting them on in one piece was very difficult, glad to know you can put them on in several pieces. that was my first job, she loved it, but I did it way to cheap thanks again

  • how far apart do you put them

  • one inch roughly, oem spacing-this was a remove replace for the customer.

  • Hmm seems fairly easy... How difficult was it disconnecting the third tail light and the spoiler. I heard it's hard to disconnect the spoiler because of the 3M double-sided tape without snapping it in half.

  • this isn't really helpful, esp with all the splicing done to the video... dunno why you posted it. not gonna lie, it's a sweet pony though! props on the good taste!

  • posted it, because tired of people asking how its done, stripped this stripes off and reinstalled all the stripes new. Shelby stripes unavailable, 1 0f 500, install of intire job took 4 hours.

  • nice

    how much it (stripes) cost?

  • 600 with ten inch racing stripes any color.

  • I just did a 2005, just curious why you cut it in two pieces in the back, I did it in one

  • Yes you can do it with one piece. although you will have to hand cut both inside and outside edge of stripe to make it look straight. i prefer to only have to cut the inside line or the void in between the stripes, leaving the outside line perfectly straight. From Shelby and Ford motor company the original stripe kits are a 21 piece kit and have the pieces split in the rear and the front bumper also. We really try to go for the oem look on all our jobs. Thank you for your comment.
