  • 0:29 for train... Your welcome!

  • dude no awesome horn this time huh

  • I was expecting some woman to run out and get hit

  • No horn?

  • The original CaliforniaZeyphyr that used to come through Downers Grove many years ago on the old Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy (now Burlington Northern Santa Fe line) went well over 100MPH

  • Sweet!

  • Funny, at 0:28 I can hear him tap the horn very faintly.

  • @npadul30 I can too.

  • awesome

  • They really barrel past. When I took the train out to Osceola, IA (the California Zephyr), back in October, it's amazing that you can get from Chicago Union Station to Naperville, IL in about 25 minutes.

  • The platform lights with wreaths look very nice.

  • Good video.

  • I am from NJ and i seen the ACELLA speed past me at 125mph a few times lol

  • @flyewr1907 i used to see the old clockers do that lol

  • Sure looks like the Southwest Chief to me.

Hard to tell, but I think I see an ATS shoe on the lead loco. The consist is perfect for the Chief.

So if I had to guess, I'd say Southwest Chief.

  • Between 75-90 Miles Per Hour

  • the speed limit on this line is 70 so if this is an engineer who likes to push things, I'd say 75

  • That must have been one hell of a surprise for some.

  • Thats for sure. My dad and I knew it was the Amtrak and were telling people who were walking up past the yellow line to get back. Im surprised the engineer didnt give a couple toots at least.

  • I'm not sure about in person, but it looked quite slow from a distance, as if it were ready to stop.

  • You're right, in person it did look like it was stopping until it was right on you.

  • Wow, that's fast!

  • For Amtrak service along the BNSF line, there's both the California Zephyr and Southwest Chief, plus 2 trains each day(inbound and outbound) to Quincy. So 4 inbound trains, and 4 outbound trains each day pass by DG(closest Amtrak stop is Naperville).

  • Ooops, I meant that they're 8 Amtrak trains(4 inbound, 4 outbound) on that line every day! Apologies for my error there.

  • That was a good one!

  • looks like the southwest chief

  • If I'd were to guess, I'd say that was the Southwest Chief.

  • What Some Nice Fast Train

  • Good speed,like that :D

  • That was sweet! Do you know what train that was? 5*

  • It may have been the California Zephyr but Im not sure.

  • What city was this? Maybe CoastStarlight11 might know.

  • Downers Grove, IL which is west of Chicago on the BNSF (old BN). The trains headed east to Chicago.

  • Looks like the Chief... No HQ but I'm pretty sure I see an ATS shoe attached to the lead truck indicating it was on the BNSF Transcon.

  • It couldve been the southwest chief too. Forgot that one

  • There's a lot of Amtrak that goes through there I think...right?

  • I don't know. Im thinking something like 2 outbounds and 2 inbounds plus the metras.

  • Excellant
