@chuck28372 Huh - hang on, get your history straight. There was a huge movement that predicted Jesus would return then. EGW had not done any writing at this time, nor had the Adventist church started. It was on discovering that this theology was wrong that EGW and others went back to the bible. If was from this that started them down the path to adventism.
I was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination for 12 years but I have now resigned my membership because I came to understand and realise that I am saved by faith and grace alone, not by works or personal Sabbath keeping that the SDA teach. I teach the gospel of justification, sanctification and righteousness by faith alone. But now most Adventists abuse me and call me a child of Satan. Once I came out of Babylon/SDA I am set free in the grace and righteousness of Christ. Praise Jesus!
I enjoyed the clip, and the1antonio1, Adventist never have and never will saved by works, we are and always have teach that we are saved by grace. I do not know you and I am sure most Adventist do not either, but I am sure you are not a child of Satan. we are all God's children.
@bobh62000 You are a LIAR and I can prove it by asking you some questions, because the truth is you rely on your sabbath works to save you!
1. Do you keep the 10 Commandments and Sabbath Commandment perfectly? Yes or No?
2. Do you believe you will still be saved by faith in Jesus and avoid the future Mark of the Beast if you were to stop meeting Adventists every Saturday morning to sing a few songs, tithe, hear a sermon and go home? Yes or No?
@Jesus4Truth@Jesus4Truth If you ever thought that Adventists taught salvation by works, you were at best a deluded Adventist. NOWHERE in any of our books is this falsehood taught. Ellen White explicitly rejects this notion in many places. We have the same view as Luther, Calvin, Wesley and many other protestant pioneers based on MANY NT verses (Hebrews 10:26, James 2, Rom 3), that salvation is free and not of works, but that works are an INEVITABLE result of genuine conversion.
@Jesus4Truth 1. No. 2. Yes. The Bible does say that God works through us and that if we are in a saving relationship we would long to follow our Lord and God. Paul writes that just because we are not under the law does not mean we are free to break the law. We are saved by grace and by faith. All through the Bible God tells us that His law is the way we find out of our sin, Paul states that without the Law he would not know that he was a sinner and in need of Christ.

Adventists believe they are lost if they were to stop attending SDA Church Service every Sabbath to sing a song or two, pay their tithe, hear a sermon and go home. If they stopped doing this "work", they believe they are lost and will receive the future Mark of the Beast. Ask any Adventist if they believe they will be saved if they stopped attending SDA Sabbath Church Service! Their answer reveals they rely on personal Sabbath keeping to remain saved! There is your proof of SDA legalism!
ATTENTION Adventists: Are you a perfect Sabbath keeper? Yes or No?
If Yes, then do you claim you are actually perfectly keeping the Sabbath Commandment without flaw at all?
And do you then claim you keep the whole 10 Commandments perfectly and that you are now sinless, because James said if you break 1 point you break the whole law! So you would need to be a perfect 10 Commandment keeper to be classified as a Perfect Sabbath Keeper.
If your answer is No,then you admit you are a Sabbath breaker?
@abaggoo Japanase, Chines and Swedes who eat a lot of meat have the longest longevity in the world and there are very few SDAs proportionately in those countries.
In the US Mormons have a very high rate of longevity too. SDAs do not have a corner on the longevity market
I never said that SDAs have a corner on the longevity market and neither does this documentary. The film is simply telling the Adventist history and viewpoint on health. It has been proven that Adventists live longer. Moreover it is a proven fact that a vegetarian diet is much healthier for the mind and body regardless of what religious beliefs a person may have. Being a vegetarian is a much healthier way to live and I am proud to be one. Shalom V'emet!
@abaggoo Hi Abaggoo I never said you said that SDAs have a corner on longevity. I merely pointed out SDAs do not have a corner on longevity, Mormons/meat eaters have a high rate as well & The top 3 countries for longevity eat a lot of meat and do not have a lot of SDAs. Thanx for the opportunity to clarify.
Remember leaders of different Christian sects, the will of God is undivided Christianity. Give up your churches, no more Catholic, Protestants, Adventist, JW etc. If you think that I am wrong then prove that you are right. Ive asked the Lord for the two simultaneous explosion of volcano in the U.S. within this month of December, pray that it wouldnt happen, if despite of your prayer it does happen, then know that God is with me therefore you have to listen to me.
Remember Ellen G White was a false prophet she claimed that Christ would return in 1844! What did Jesus say he said not to follow them!?
