next to Freddie Mercury these are my two favorite singers of all time. it is truly as if they should be born ,live and die with mikes in their hands .Thanx 4 the music
It`s tough to top Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, but WOW , while a different twist, how could you miss with two flawless voices like that. Nice clip.
Great stuff! Marilyn had basically 3 careers: Fifth Dimension, Marilyn & Billy, and Solid Gold. And she was great in all of them. These SG clips make me wish I had watched more of the show (I was invited to a taping during the final season by member of the production crew, but that's another story), and they really show, I think, how Marilyn seemed to really enjoy signing and performing with the guest vocalists. It looks as if she really was enjoying herself---her voice and her heart are in it.
Great duet - their voices blend so well together! On a funny note, my sis and I used to have Nuns babysit us and they would ALWAYS let us stay up past our bedtime if we'd let them watch the "Tom Jones Show". Too funny!!!
Two of my favorite performers of all time right there. Nice job McCoo fan. She was gorgeous wasn't she? 2:12 to 2:22, they goofing around a little there? ; )
God! I remember when this was originally aired and taped it. I must have watched it a million times. Superior version of a great song. MM was never better and Sir Tom, there are no words for his vocal perfection.
McCoofan-- You've just proved who SHOULD have recorded this song! Tom and Marilyn made Joe and Jennifer sound like they were monotoned and half-asleep! What a pleasure to hear these two deliver the lyrics with both confidence and intimacy....
Marilyn McCoo -awesome--most ppl today don't know her, she was with the original Fifth Dimension, you know, the ones who wrote Let The Sunshine In

Oh, has he been knighted? I didn't know that. He deserves knighthood.

Sir Tom received his OBE in 1999 and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II made him a Knight Bachelor in 2006.

I remember seeing this live, also. Gulp ... how long ago was that?
EdTracey347 2 years ago
At least 26 or 27 years ago as the song came out in 1982.
