  • Awesome :)

  • The voice of the female guard in 2:00 sounds like the voice of Medusa from Soul Eater. Same voice actress, perhaps?

  • fucka you whale

    and fucka you dolphin

  • though i hardly understand a word i'm still gone use it, it always seems as if the japanese voiceactors get payed a lot more then the english one's : /

  • This doesn't work for me, for some reason NPCs don't say anything after the whole intro... And at the intro I had to play it in English because else it would get stuck...

  • Wha happens for people that have no steam version?

  • @Hsnyutsu You mean console version or pirated one?

  • @Ziimulis8B Pirated one.

  • @Hsnyutsu Mods and the rest of the stuff works with Pirated copies. I had to use Pirated copy myself because I always receive my pre-orders 2 - 3 days after release -.-

I won't help you any further thou because I do not support piracy! Good luck searching!

  • @Hsnyutsu Pirate bay?

  • After Japanese have a dose of skyrim, they'll prepare western RPGs over jap's

  • i'm fucking download it!!

don't care if doesn't fit the lore at all

    I WANT IT NOW

  • OMG this is awsome gotta do it NOW !

  • Lmao, now I wanna start playing the JP version instead. :D

  • japanese dragons suck compared to the european dragons like in skyrim

  • @wkdwinny Yeah they better back the fuck up!. This game is FAR to manly for some anime lover to play. it might give the otaku a heart attack from all of the adrenaline and testosterone pumping through their viens. . Next thing you'll see is anime being at hing of the past and every man and woman and child in japan having a full set of facial hair and killing godzilla by shouting. they'll be like "who needs pussy ass robots! ILL FUCK YOU UP WITH MY AXE!!!"

  • Now my Japanese girlfriend can play Skyrim. sweet....

  • japanese makes everything sound epic XD

  • the last dragonborn !

  • Keep your hands to yourself, sneak thief with that voice makes my hands itch XD

  • 1:20 NARUTO !

  • @Schneil1911 jajajaja

  • Can you do this without Steam? I pirated my game since I bought so much during christmas I couldn't afford it (will buy next month probably).

  • @jultomtetris Yes you can - it works perfectly. I never laughed so much in my life whenever i fight enemies xD

  • I love the japanese voices so much xD

  • Skyrim + Final Fantasy = Norse people speaking Japanese

  • @Ramen86861 nah, Ulfric and the others must be androgynous to look like FF whatever the language.

  • i finally made it work

you need to update the skyrim game to japanese language then back up the Japanese voice bsa and extra voice bsa put it on new folder then update your skyrim back to english language then drop the japanese voice bsa and extra voice bsa in your skyrim data folder

start the game the subtitles are english but the voice of the characters is japanese

  • I'm curious to see what the phrase I took an arrow to the knee sound like in japanese

  • @Syls198913 Look at my channel

  • thanks for the info trying it now! :D

  • Are the shouts still the same as the English version?

  • @deztructicus Yes, but the voices for the player characters seem to be different

  • WHERE do I get this?

Do this have Fus Ro Dah version?

  • you still can play with english like that in Ps3 version?? please somebody reply i gotta know T_T

  • @Key2541 you can't get alternative languages on a system, there's too much dialogue to fit on the one disk, you gota buy the pc version and download mods and such onto it

    sorry :(

  • @dawiidude9572 I can buy it and return if i want but when the disc start then its gonna install the trophy, thats the problem i dont want to left the trophy 0% like that. god this is so annoying

  • It only sounds better because you can't understand the terrible writing

  • VOS ROSSIU DAH

  • everything sounds 100x cooler in japanese

  • FINNALY some mod worth downloading, Japanese voice actors are very good most of the time

but I do want to have English text and now that is possible, arigato :D

  • just thought this could help; this takes a few more steps but after you download the japanese voice files, extract the .bsa with fallout mod manager, dump extracted sound directory into data directory confirm the overwrites.

  • it is just like another mod so steam wont attack it.

  • Any idea if this is doable on console? (I highly doubt it though... just wondering if anyone knows about it...)

  • Oh man, who voices the female guard? I know her from some anime....

  • Genesic Emerald Ulfric Buster!!

  • Post the fucking link?

  • STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL GAIJIN

  • @TheCoincidence

    ROFLMAO! xD

  • dovahkiin san, baka nandiaoooooo

  • wow, comparing this to the default bethsoft english voice acting, the japanese one beats the english in every extent

  • @CaeniaMedia I'm guessing you don't speak Japanese, because this is average acting at best. Ulfric's voice sounds pretty stilted, and those random NPCs at the table sound just horrible.

  • @suzushirou

It's the same with anime though. It sounds good to people who don't live in Japan or speak Japanese but to those who do, they can recognize how bad it is.

  • @CaeniaMedia

Japan has an entire industry built up around voice-acting, anime, so they have a large pool of talented voice actors. The US doesn't have this, they have screen actors but they expect large amounts of money to do voice work, and also if you've seen any Pixar films you know that being a good screen acting doesn't mean you're a good voice actor.

  • TAGER IS THAT YOU?!? D:

  • im using the jap voice becoz of lydia and her "sworn to carry my burdens". X(

  • sounds like bleach or naruto in skyrim

  • How you people can even think this is "epic"? Damn, these Japanese voices suck like hell..

  • i also prefer the original voices, but curiosity is badass, gonna try it xD

  • Haha, the epicness, I still prefer the original voices, but this does indeed sound epic XD

  • someone needs to make a Tsundere Women mod for this game....and make them marriable

  • @eMPv7 uthgerd the tsundere....

  • oh cmon...you know you could share the files with us.

i am getting abit sick of hearing english voices.

  • @iwanfishz9 It exists on the internet somewhere... remember that Google is your friend.

Keep trying occasionally if you can't find it, Google's web crawler takes some time.

Of course if you do find it on the internet, remember that downloading those files is only not infringement if you already own the game (i think, those laws are pretty confusing and vague).

  • @CharonM72

    Oh fine.

Looks like i have to torrent the full japanese 5,3gb version >.<

  • @iwanfishz9 that's not what i mean -.- the voice files are available somewhere.

  • @CharonM72

no one has uploaded them yet.

Besides i have a broadband has a high download speed so it's no problem.

can't wait to find out what cicero sounds like.

  • @iwanfishz9 But do they have the English subs? xD

  • @cr4yv3n

    Yes they do.

I just replace the orginal english voice files with the japanese audio files and it works perfectly fine with english subtitles.

  • @iwanfishz9 I know i just made the change a few hours ago. It's so cool my friend can't stop laughing xD

  • @CharonM72 Can you please just upload the japanese voice files, i dont have steam, please help!

  • @Blindingscythe13 Look on the internet.

  • @Blindingscythe13

...just go to kickasstorrents and search for "Skyrim Japanese Voices"

  • @CharonM72 can you atleast tell us what did you search for?

i mean what did you type on the search box?

  • @guill102 I suppose bastardeyez has the right idea

  • @iwanfishz9 they already have this mod in nexus

  • @LoserNoGirl ghost in the shell SAC

  • @LoserNoGirl By that logic you should be playing the game with norsk audio. English is obsolete. Show me a good english viking that wasn't made 1500 years ago.

  • Someone should upload the files

  • @LoserNoGirl i wouldnt be able to fit them all in 500 characters if i listed them

  • Japanese voice actors are soooo much better

  • Duragonbornu no ecchi

  • Man Japanese always sounds fucking angry as fuck.

  • DURAGON BONU-SAN-SAMA!!!

  • Why the fuck would you do this?

  • Dis shit is Kawaii

  • There's no need to turn the auto-update for the game off, since the updates rarely touch the Voice.bsa/VoiceExtra.bsa

  • Is that Marina Inoue at 1:57?

  • Comment removed

  • does this work with a pirated version?

  • @Valdris1987 maybe (yes)

  • @CharonM72 ok ok ok! now what i( and pretty sure i can say we) really wanna hear here is the japanese version of "stupid lars battleborn i fight him everyday but he's not much of a challenge" from whiteruns very own tsundere braith! she also has a line where she goes all dere! and confesses she's in love with him complete with all that tsundere greatness!

  • at 1:34

    is that gilgamesh?

    (from F/Z or F/SN)

  • If you change your windows system default to Japanese, the Japanese game texts will show up properly. It changes everything to Japanese, though.

  • @vegavak Worth a try =P =D

  • i read in Description about some enkoding issues and things... And maybe i could leave it in Japanese version and just copy & paste in the English VoiceBSA thingys. BUT for some reason the Japanese version of Skyrim also change the way the interface works. For example in order to equip something on the right hand i first have to unequip what is already equipped! Else it'll just go to the left hand (or vice-versa) ... And the mouse don't work in any menu either. Have to scroll with keyboard...

  • @UltimeciaKnight Using the Japanese version and just replacing the voice files with the English voice files in the way described in the description should work fine. If the whole game is in Japanese otherwise, there shouldn't be encoding issues.

  • @CharonM72 But you don't know of a way to keep English version, also keep English version of Steam and just changing the Subtitles to Japanese? Auuww ok but thx anyway =P

The controls really are haywire in Japanese version... Dunno why :/ Can't browze inventory with mouse. :S i want Japanese but i don't want THAT :P

  • Is there a way to do the reverse... Keep the English voices but have "General" & "Dialogue" Subtitles be in Japanese? I really need that ASAP! ... I don't aktivate either of the subtitle options but if they were to be in Japanese letters i would find a use for them ^^ Whle still hearing the cute Nord dialekted English! =)

  • Translator's note: Krosis means cute.

  • I just tried this out, currently doing the College quests and all I can say is Ancano sounds devious as heck

  • I wonder how Cicero sounds like in japanese.

  • @invisusmachina yes....yes YES I like where this is going.

  • 私はかつてはあなたのような冒険家でした。しかし、その後、私は膝に矢を持っていきました。

(I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow in the knee.)

  • I use to speak Japanese, but then i took an atomic bomb to the knee.

  • @FlamingAtheist FUCK YOU

  • @trf416msx I love you too! ;D

  • Japan ruined this game.

  • Fist of the Skyrim Star

  • 1:59

    boner time

  • 私は膝に矢印を取ったまで私は、英語でskyrimを再生するために使用

  • @ThoraGaming ググるな、カス

  • The Translate_Japanese folder isn't doing anything apart from changing "Load" etc to "$Load" etc.

If I rename it to the original Translate_ENGLISH filename, it'll not load the characters and will just have boxes.

    Any resolutions to this issue?

  • @prettyflowerboysxoxo Boxes? Like for the [tab] compass and the main menu? That shouldn't happen. It's expected however for other text like subtitles and item names if you try to translate them.

  • Oh, sorry, I found it already :D

  • Guys, help, please....

I don't have Japanese in "Language"...

    What should I do?

  • I.. It's not like i want to get shot in the knee or anything! Baka dovahkiin..

  • @kaiTakateru

is that reference from Boku wa tomo... :) ?

  • Is it possible for the characters to have other voice dubs such as French or Germna? I'd just like to hear how those dubs sound like.

  • @Chinothebad I know a German one exists, it can be reasonably assumed a French one exists. Using this method should work for any language with an official dub.

  • is that gil at 1:35 ?

  • This is just like one of my Japanese Animes :D

  • @4nima117 except the Character design isnt retarded and the story writing isnt as bad

  • This some sugoi shit niggaa

  • They sound like from those old samurai movies. Awesome.

  • i change language in steam but i have no eng subtitle

  • @westlifeminkie Read the description completely.

  • You're right about Steam's languages for defined countries. I have US friend that has Skyrim, but non-steam version. He has downloaded Skyrim using my account and Japanese still wasn't listed. He asked his US friend with American Skyrim key and he could change his language to Japanese, so it's my Polish key's fault. What do I do now? :/

  • @Suchar12 Try asking your American friend's friend for the files or something. Aside from that, not much I can say...

  • B-bakas..

  • Hi, I have Polish version of Skyrim on Steam and when I go to it's settings there are only European languages listed, no Japanese or anything. All I can do is change Steam's language to Japanese, I did that and it started to download an update, but once it was done I've noticed the game is fully in English. All it did was changing language from Polish to English. Do you have any idea how to make this work in my case? Thanks in advance.

  • @Suchar12 Ah sorry, it seems Steam allows some languages in some countries and other languages in other countries. If you have any friends in Japan or the US or another country where you can get Japanese audio, try asking them to send you their language files (which shouldn't be breaking copyright if you both own the game and do a direct file transfer).

  • @CharonM72 I live in the USA and I can only select European languages.

  • @dkamm65 That's weird, try making sure Skyrim and Steam are updated. Japanese should have been available since Dec. 8.

  • my Skyrim guard cant be this cute

  • Blades anyone?

  • That sounds crazy good!

  • Tsundere guards... :3

  • 1:58

Yozora, what are you doing in Skyrim?

  • Mismatched armor shouldn't bother me as much as it does.

  • Skyrim is the best anime game

  • Its not like I want you to enchant my sword... It was just getting d-dull, that's all!

  • All we need are some loli mods and we're all set

  • @4znPpl Just wait some time and we will have them.

  • 0:52

"I have decided that this chair does not reflect the fabric of my interior desires. How can one express a sincere desire to eradicate all those that wish to falter one's progress, when one is not prepared? I shall stand up and walk back and forth until my enemies grow vexed in anticipation, verily we should strike!"

  • Japanese voice actors are always bad in video games, but this one is bearable I guess.

  • H-hands yo yourself, k-kono sneak theafu..!

  • That's pretty fucking kawaii.

  • am i kawaii dovahkiin-sama

  • It only sounds cool because you have no idea what they are saying.

Also, normal japanese people don't sound like this.

  • @Blacksnyder

"Also, normal japanese people don't sound like this."

That's the point, there inside a little fantasy land of dragons.

  • Trust Japan to actually get somewhat competent voice actors.

  • Fucken weeaboos..

  • It surprises me how Ulfric can still speak a human tongue, I remember the 3 of the Greybeards could no longer speak because they're voices were too strong for people to withstand.

  • Now , About those loli mods

  • Tsundere guards holy freaking shit

  • @ross2694 "It-It's not like I took your arrow to the knee because I like you or anything! I just felt like it! Jerk..."

  • The voices sound very good. Personally, I would keep the English voices because of the game's Western setting and because as a rule, I prefer to experience games, movies and other media in their native languages.

This is still a really cool video and I like that you took the time to explain how to achieve this result so other people can do the same. As one weeabro to another, I must say I truly appreciate this. Keep up the good work.

  • This is awesome.

When I heard that the game was being released in Japan with Japanese voices I hoped that there would be a mod to get this result, but I would have never have thought that it would be possible to do it like this.

    Arigatou!!!

  • Is there a version of PC Skyrim where u DO NOT need Steam? i want that!!..

But most importantly; If i only want the voices to change then it seems rather easy, backup those Skyrim - Voice.bsa & VoicesExtra.bsa then replace them after updating back to English version... Though why not just play with Japanese version altogether. Why do i need to change back?..

Oh i am so thrilled for this! I might try to change text too but it seems harder than the voices. Tho i am a modder... ^^ But still xP

  • @UltiMasterlord You don't play in full Japanese so that all the text remains in English. I suppose you could try putting the English text files into the Japanese version though... never thought of that.

  • I would've changed the voices back to English...then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Ulfric voice is still glorious even in the japanese version

  • Sounds surprisingly better.

  • it DOESNT sound better, the game was tailored to be in english, having the game in japanese pretty much breaks the overall feel of the game.

  • @Tr1pMind The Japanese and Russian voice actors are just better. Nothing to do with the "feel".

  • that's freaking badass

Ulfric and his lackey there sound especially badass

  • The game is actually fully dubbed in Japanese? That's...very interesting, especially since I didn't expect it from Skyrim of all games. You should do a comparion of the lines said in japanese and in english, just to see which voice actors are better.

  • @JolanJoestar I haven't done a vid about it but after testing i like the English more since they have much more variety in accent. Not to mention that the original dub usually always is the best!.. But i agree. I want such a video! ^^ I could but i'm too lazy i think.

  • @ivynbean They do. And the lip syncing does not match, no. However for someone who wants to practice Japanese and know what's happening (subtitles), this method is very useful. Besides, the voices do sound pretty boss. I have yet to try many other people (Hermaeus Mora must be fun)
