Richard Hawley is awesome. In my opinion, he is the best ballad writer around these days. A bit of Sinatra mixed with Roy Orbison This song is gorgeous. The video is sweet and funny at the same time.

Strange video. But I like it because it was filmed around where I live. That's Redmires Top Dam at the end there, a really beautiful place.

You might like to know also that the picture of a Spitfire plane used in the booklet which accompanies Lady's Bridge was taken in Fagan's, a superb Sheffield boozer.

I like the way RH brings my city into his wonderful music.

Wonderful song. Not many hit you between the eyes on first hearing but this did a few weeks ago. One of those that turn me into a 14 stone blubbering wreck when I'm alone. I bought Lady's Bridge today, not a dud on it. I know he's been around for a while and put himself through the rock and roll mill a bit but his time has finally come and it's well deserved.

Thanks for that. I certainly will be making an effort to catch him live. I had never heard of him until I saw him doing Serious on the box. I was really struck by the rockabilly backing with a vocal that didnt quite match but still sounded great. I bought Lady's Bridge and was blown away.
