  • I didn't realize that golf can be so poetic, yet it could be that its just a movie made for entertainment.

  • hehe kuckt auf mich bin n hamster

  • Best piano music :))

  • Great movie

  • I heard that this movie was recieved very negatively by the African-American community because it used the idea of the "magical negro" character in its plot . It was criticized for being racist and Will Smith wasn't liked because of it .

  • @scottweise18 Yes, it was not liked by the Black Community. Spike Lee spoke out against it often. However, I think its best for one to watch the movie themselves and create their own opinion. I for one see Will Smith not as a so called "Magical Negro" but truly as a Guardian Angel to Matt Damon. But, that is just how I saw his part in the movie.

  • @sos115 I love his films and respect his directing/acting, but Spike Lee should've just shut up and enjoyed the film. The Bagger character works perfectly as a Guardian Angel like you said. No need for people to be looking for race issues in every thing

  • @bossofalltime I understand what Spike was tying to say, but there's a time a place for correctness. If anything, I would have liked to see Morgan Freeman play Bagger Vance. To me, it looks like that roll should have been played by someone a bit order. That's just my opinion. I think this might be the greatest golf movie ever.

  • @scottweise18

It's a shame people think of this racial bs instead of simply enjoying this beautiful movie...

  • @TsanevMusic Because there's nothing beautiful about it once you look past the cinema and the music and what you think you feel . The truth is the movie is racist towards black people and although the idea of the "Magical Negro" as Will Smith's character is called might look like it's painting African-Americans in a positive light, he's still more or less subordinate to the white protagonist, having no past, simply appearing .

  • @TsanevMusic Here's the definition of the Magical Negro which plays a very sad and important part in this film: The Magical Negro serves as a plot device to help the protagonist get out of trouble, typically through helping the white character recognize his own faults and overcome them.

  • @TsanevMusic Although he has magical powers, his "magic is ostensibly directed toward helping and enlightening a white male character." "These powers are used to save and transform disheveled, uncultured, lost, or broken whites (almost exclusively white men) into competent, successful, and content people within the context of the American myth of redemption and salvation."It is this feature of the Magical Negro that some people find most troubling.

  • @TsanevMusic Although from a certain perspective the character may seem to be showing blacks in a positive light, he is still ultimately subordinate to whites. He is also regarded as an exception, allowing white America to "like individual black people but not black culture."

  • @TsanevMusic It was just a reincarnation of "the same old" stereotype or caricature of African Americans as the "noble savage" or the "happy slave".

  • @TsanevMusic And another thing how nice is it that they painted the African-American as wearing rags while the Aryan blondes (that's what it looks like to me with most of the main characters in this film) wear fancy golf attire and look clean and shaved while Will Smith looks like a second class citizen . Just something I saw in this movie . That all three characters are blonde haired and blue eyed . The women, Matt Damon and the other dude . His opponent .

  • @TsanevMusic You see you can't overlook the "racist bs" because there's nothing to overlook . The only thing u see that isnt racist (from what I can see and what's been said by me and others) is the golf game itself . Everyone else from the characters to the plot to costumes . All of it is designed that way . So Idk what the director was thinking when he made this movie but my guess is either he's uneducated, he didnt know what he was doing and the movie was a mistake or he knew .

  • @ryanscottweise The director, Robert Redford, is a world renowned director and actor. As for the movie plot, costumes and etc. This movie is based around the time of the early 1920's. This movie is depicting the typical time period that its based. It is being historically accurate. Lets be truthful here, majority of blacks did not wear such clothing as the whites did. They were still suppressed during this time.

  • @ryanscottweise I see your points and understand what you are saying, however I think the movie would have been majorly flawed had they put Will Smith in clothing that suited the upper class of America.

  • Christ is with you.....play the clubs he gives you, dont think about it, be yourself

  • i dont have any balls LOL they didnt drop yet kiddo

  • Never judge a book by its movie.
