lol first these people dont know either judo or wrestling its embarrassing to watch... second wresting has always and will alwaysssssssssss be inferior to judo.. that it all
Godamn, so will judo help my wrestling? ahah I can train 2-3 months for about 120 bucks. that is like 30 bucks a month, that is how much an average gym membership cost. From may may till august when season comes around.
@Supersmurf62 oh, yea thats probably it then, r dojo averages around 30-40 people but we have beginner, intermidiate, n adults at the same time thats probably why then
Maybe for the other wrestling moves. But the judo throw was pure hip action. Watch it again, the set up was sweet and all the white shirt guy could do was go over.
Oh hell, why were there no blocked punches or anything from the judo guy? I see no Judo here other than a complicit lock up or two. This guy isn't Judo.
Yeah, this is clearly a grappling only match. Also, these types of throws are favored in judo, so it's likely he has a judo background. Also, using judo no-gi is a little different!
actually most grappling moves(judo and wrestling) have been independently created by societies all over the world, from europe to asia to North America to Africa to wherever. So thus, we cant REALLY label it a judo OR wrestling move, rather a universal grappling move. :)
None of you know what you are talking about. That throw is common in Judo Shiai. It is a variation of Tsuri Goshi. Judo IS a form of wrestling. Period.
@AGA151994 Wrestling probably came way before judo , and they are 2 different styles, Judo focus's on good throw (good throws end match, if not good throws but bad throw, then ground fighting will take place for like 30 seconds) Wrestling for the most part is trying to get a pin
@besgeo It could be...this is one of those situations where it could be either...rarely do throws in practice exactly match what they look like in demonstration. For instance...I thought for years my tokui-waza was ippon seonage...but it turns out that in dynamic situations it resembles yama-arashi more than it does ippon-seonage...so in sort...you could be right.
@popasmuerf so true. I don't even know sometimes what throw i do. All i know is that they work hahaha. I used to have a wrestling style when i did judo. When the leg pickups were disallowed, i had to restart from scratch.
"headlock"? wth r u talkin about? the headlock came in the end durin the pin, wat mayhemkid505 said is rite: it's a head and arm throw, part hip toss. anyway, it looks like they were jst playin around, it looked like the guy was wearin jeans for goodness sakes haha
that was the worst hip throw ive ever seen. he didnt even load him up he just grab him and swung him around. absolutely no spring off the legs and his hips werent even under the other kids.
It was actually closer to a tai-otoshi which is a hand throw more than a hip throw. You notice that he is pushed to side and goes over the leg and not the hip. Although the arn does slide down around the head at the point of impact.

Judo is Simply better in the fact that there is no weight class due to the fact that weight isn't any kind of variable for the move to be done
TheJudoka93 1 year ago
@TheJudoka93 there´s wight class in judo
jorgepokr94 1 year ago
@jorgepokr94 for competitions yes but for a move to be accomplished it is actually not a variable

if the wrestler was better he could have just rolled threw the headlock.

this throw is allowed in wrestling and should have been countered by the wrestler, this show inexperience.

Its a wrestling throw that can be seen in judo ORa judo throw that can be seen in wrestling... Whats the difference? The subject line says "Judo."

@popasmuerf It wasn't Tsuri Goshi. Tsuri Goshi is a lifting hip throw.
the throw he did in the end was Koshi Guruma but he kinda did it wrong...it was kinda like a headlock takedown...=/
