You know what i've noticed? NUMBER 10 EGGS NEVER HATCH. THEY JUST DON'T!!! In all the batches i'e had, egg #10 dies during incubation. EVERY BATCH. IT'S SO WEIRD. Next time i'll just skip #10 and just number it 11.
ugh if i saw an egg like that when im tryin to buy eggs to eat id return it lol.... onto another business rwhtv, can any egg if you have a incubator or somethin to keep them warm, can any egg hatch? like if u go to the store and buy a dozen eggs. or can it only be from a chicken or duck or whatever?
I had a mallard duck build a nest in my backyard with 7 eggs but it abandoned the nest today. It's supposed to storm really bad tonight and the next few days. Do you think it left bcuz the eggs are dead or because it knew there was no chance cuz of the bad weather?
@URAbunnylover2 We weigh them every day or two and adjust the humidity based on how much weight they are losing. The eggs should lose about 14% of their set weight before hatching. We will be posting a video in the next few days to show how we do it.
hey, a duck laid an egg next to my pool about 7 days ago and flew off leaving it on the pavers so i took it in. it was still warm so i put it under a light with a warm damp cloth not really thinking i had a chance with it. well i tried candling it just now and it has wavery shadow lines all over it, a round dark circle shadow on one end and a kind of shadow blob next to the circle. do u reckon somethings actually growing??
You can give it a few more days, but what you are describing sounds like an embryo that started, but then died. That is probably why the mother duck left it. Good Luck though.
I have three duck eggs i rescued, after a week in the incubator i see no movement and no viens. Both ends of the eggs are clear and there is a dark substance taking up the circumfrence of the eggs. ARe they alive or dead?
You should wait about a week. Try not to disturb it for the first week. The embryo is very delicate and you won't see anything growing until about a week.

@n33oh I really have no idea. Depending on where you live, it may be against the law to disturb wild duck eggs though.

Sounds like they are dead, although giving them a few more days can't hurt.
