i have 6 goldfish and two of these algae cleaning fish in my tank right now, a ten gallon that is. I'm wondering if i need a bigger tank? im trying to grow them to 8+ inches
For the most part. It could have just been a benign tumor, but the the man who posted this video said it was cancer. It didn't look as if it had spread yet.
Like I said, that's cancer, not fin rot. Fin rot doesn't cause it to swell and form lumps like that. I've had cancer myself, so I think I know what I'm talking about.

If you were so sure about your fish you wouldn't have deleted the comment in which you said "i have fish in a 10 or 15 idk." And something about "my mom dont believe me theyr in a 6 bigger tank bigger tank " "im 11 duhh".
So don't send me another message regarding your fake fish tank. Just because you went online and slapped some numbers together to make yourself seem like less of an idiot doesn't mean that anyone buys your bullshit.
dont go trolling this fish is kept wrong its a pound fish for starters or need at least e 2 and half meter tank, becuase there long distant swimmers, look at the eyes of the fish anit looking happy i can tell, this one aint happy en the tail looks disformd, en he has grwon a tumor on de disformation of the finn, aint happy!!!!!! i no my shit as it comes to goldfish

I have Orandas and Ranchus. one tank is 240 liter the other 400 liters, those fis need good care taking, im glad some one here understand that :-) also nice to have a positif coment for ones, trolling and wining is so easy, better people be nice ones in a while ;-)
The fish it self isn't deformed, but his tail has a tumor on it. Just like people, fish get tumors. Sometimes they are benign sometimes malignant. Unfortunately this goldfishes tumor is malignant.
But, you've got to remember, this video was taken 3 years ago.

Research means you have a willingness to learn. Trust me, maturity and intelligence will help out a fish keeping hobby.
I don't know if you're near sided but I said nothing about 11 year olds.
I said "As goldfish LOVERS we know how to keep them." Meaning that we want to know all that we can about our beloved fish.
Next time you read comments, keep your cool. Because I said nothing offensive. I even said, "16 is a rough estimate". If you have the maturity and smarts of someone older, good.
its diformd because of the tank is to smal singel tailde goldfish ARE NOT tank fish, its a verry common mistake , the need 70 liters of water at least each fiss, the also need a large tank of 1,50 meter+ in lenght
deformed? it looks like one of the nicest fish on youtube to me. people need to open their eyes and stop letting children log on to their youtube accounts without parental supervision.
cool looking fish but i wanna know how did you get him so big i have a 30 gallon tank and the fish i have are lionhead oranda and 2 pearlscale any tips?
tip-wise, i cleaned the tank out once a week and fed him those floating pellets everyday & i stuck my hand in the tank often to give him a tickle. gotta keep him entertained. i hope that might help.
idky people think goldfish only live a few months i have had over 100 fish in my time and the one that lived the longest was my first fish it lived for 5 years....and it WAS a goldfish!
It's probably because people are stupid, and too ignorant to do some research before they get a pet. As gold fish lovers, we know what it really takes to keep them. Most people think that those little bowls are acceptable, which we all know is bullshit.
doesn't look like a bowl to me four eyes. any ignoramus that calls themselves swallowchlorox has got to be an expert eh? the only thing that is bullshit here is what lies between your ears.

Excuse me? Four eyes? I have 20/20 vision. What lies behind my ears? A brain that, unlike you, I can use. Swallowchllorox is a song, which is clearly stated on my profile. It's like advertisement for a friends band.
I wasn't saying that this tank is a bowl, it's not. I was just saying that, as goldfish lovers, we know that bowls ARE unacceptable. I don't even see how you thought I was saying that about this fish. This fish is lovely, and it has a caring owner.
my gold fish is 34 feeder fish and its huge i bouhgt 2other feeder fish and there tank broke soo i put them in with the big one and i ate one of them =S but its still going strong hopefully it will make it to 40 =[)
his/her tail will grow back i had a fancy that had his tail eaten all the way to the end and then it grew back in months the vet even said he had a nice tail???
my 21 year old goldfish died yesterday which sucks, i was hoping he would live longer, and im glad your fish is doing better now ray, may he live for another 10 years or more XD
This video isnt boring i find it facinated that it is 14 years old, my common goldfish from the funfair lived till 12 years old. I have 6 goldfish now but only had them for a few months
i have a standard goldfish he is 15 years old called flipper he is 7 inches long lol. click onto mi username and go to the vid pictured with the fish and take a look.
if you have any question about him then tell me and i will try to answer them.
I'm not sure what he is other than a feeder goldfish. i bought him for 10 cents about 14 or 15 years ago to feed one of my Oscars with but he looked like a bit of a charmer, so i kept him.
He has had a lump growing on his tail for many years and it grew to be quite large this year until he shook it off in february. the broken tail bled for a few hours and then it started to grow back over the next few weeks and now he's doing quite well
Thank you. It's a 15 Gallon tank. I think that because he is the only fish in there, he grew to a pretty decent size. Maybe eating fish pellets gives better size than eating fish flakes?
I've fed him Nutra Fin Max Colour Enhancing Pellets his whole life and I change the water every week and have never had to worry about pH levels at all. But these things might also have somehow led to him getting the growth on his tail.
Hey I like fish much as everyone does! That specie of fish is a redcap oranda. They'll live longer if you take great oh i mean great care of them. For example: a goldfish can live up to 5 years. They'll live longer if you take good care of them.Like 5+.Still a nice video.
Actually that looks a comet. Quite a lovely one at that. It's not a red cap oranda. An oranda has two tails and a head growth called a wen. With good care it's quite common for some goldfish to live well into their teens and even twenties. Five yrs is practically adolescence for a goldfish.
I think he is a comet. He was part of a group of 10 feeder goldfish I bought for less than a dollar at the time. Most of them got too big and I gave them away to good homes. A couple even gave birth to eggs that were sticking all over the tank. He is still doing very well and the cancer is 3 times the size now unfortunately.
I am envious of you fish... are you aware of the magic that is around you everyday of your life? i wouldn't mind being in the tank with you to watch such a thing and love the hand that feeds you.
Thank you. He seemed to not feel well when I tried adding different medicine into the water and when I simply change the water with no additives, he swims around very happy, so I figured I'd just let him be. He's still very zippy.
