This would be great to make doctors and pharmacists more responsible in the pharmaceuticals prescribed. My son was misdiagnosed as ADHD and had to take risperdal and ritalin. He had horrific ticks which made him look weird ..... his real diagnosis was PTSD through trauma. He never needed the added negativity of psychotropics.
I sure did and the tics went away. His behaviour was the same. He never needed psychotropics. He has grown into a great young man and we found out he was exceptionally intelligent.
In my own, personal experiences w/ pharmacuetical drugs and lifestyle changes, I must admit I"ve done the balancing act recently. I still take at least one prescribed medication for ADD, plus St. John's Wort supplement, daily exercise, occasional meditation, reasonably balanced (but not cheap) diet and bi-weekly therapy sesssions. And I really notice a huge difference in how I feel, physical health, mental outlook, etc.
in particular antidepressants are the worst drug thats percieved as a medicine. Depression cant be diagnosed because its no more a disease than starvation is. The NLP programming used in education and training, the messages in media and the materialistic work work work mentality makes people like zombies. These drugs stop you feeling anything or make you suicidal, they are evil and dangerous and have side effects which are often medicated then youre on more drugs.
hmm when you take into account the breakdown of society here there will be a big gap between those who are unaware and those who see. I agree about drink, in my local shop there are 2 drinks without aspartame. I tried to stop giving it to my kids but they hated me for it so i had to give in. I feel this has to come from the top really,Mcdonalds are still advertising without a health warning and the working day is too long in winter, we need to relax more etc.

not a doctor, just a guy on youtube but. i would recommend more omega fatty acids, for the brain. get the 3's 6's and 9's. flax seed oil. salmon oil. fatty acids good for the brain, helps for smooth nerotransmition. make sure your getting the right amount of glucose. glucose is what the brain runs off of. anyways look into those...
Extra virgin olive oil has omegas and everything I cook or fry is using EVOO. I used to take fish oil pills and it didn't do shit. I still eat fish frequently simply because I enjoy fish, but I don't think omegas are doing anything. Or its one of those things that I have to take A LOT in order for it to do anything.
I don't know much about glucose, though. I bought some flaxseed to put in smoothies recently. Dunno if that will do anything.

No... I think a lot of people who are depressed are depressed about their situations and need to do some modification on their outlook (I forgot what that kind of psychology is called), but some people are actually depressed and I do think a lot of times diet and excercise can alleviate that.

Medical Free is a nice term and another one that caught my attention recently is humanness. I think like the religion/myth dichotomy, the definition or essence of being human is also being redefined. Out with the old and in with the new.
It's relevant in the sense that understanding how the mind works and what we consider to be consciousness and perception underpins many of the psych fields.
the underlining problem is capitalism out of control in this country. Some I say SOME evil companies are willing to kill millions in this country to a make a profit. We have to re-exam capitalism and regulate it. I am not surprised at all. How far are we willing to go to make a dollar should be the question?
Yes. Here in Michigan, our then governor, Engler, made suing the drug companies illegal back in 1996. I remember seeing a news story on a daughter who's father died from these sorta drugs and, crying, screamed into the camera, "WHY, ENGLER, WHY?!" The FDA is the police force used by the drug companies. The drug companies sold their souls and are sitting on a huge pile of blood money.
Man, I just watched an old South Park episode last night on Ritalin and kid prescriptions. Weird coincidence (wait, I'm a Calvinist...don't believe in coincidence.)
God bless the victims, and let justice prevail. Protect the kids!
Eli Lily only compensated me $2,300 for causing me to develop type 2 diabetes and gain 100lbs in only a 6 month period while taking Zyprexa. My Dr's at the time said my medications could not cause that an accused me of having an eating disorder. After quitting Zyprexa my weight came off in 1 year and I learned my instincts were correct from a new DR I started seeing. I have been Medication Free 2 years now with great success using supplements and avoiding stress.
..Uhm.. why would the makers go to prison? That's like putting sword makers and/or gun makers in prison for creating guns. But like they say "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Ethically speaking, it should be the FDA held responsible for having even approved it and the doctors prescribing harmful drugs to young children who aren't even fully developed.
Yes they should go to prison because the drugs are harmful. Using your example of the gun makers if the gun makers made defective guns that harmed the gun owners and hid the fact then they would go to prison.
These drugs where not approved by the FDA for use in children. That is the whole point. The drug companies told the doctors it was approved and many doctors then prescribed them and charged Medicaid. That is fraud.
For the Gun analogy to be equal the gun manufacturers would be passing out loaded guns on the playground and trying to jail parents that objected and charging the cost to the police.
the fda has not approved it. so that point is moot. the doctor has little to no knowledge of the effects of the drugs. sorry to burst anyone's bubble on that. they rely on the salesmen that come to their door, that tell them what the drug is allegedly supposed to do. the drug manus are the one with the army of pharmacists and researchers. and the doctor is relying on that, to fill his scripts.
the drug manus have a direct responsibility in this, if anyone does.
What do you mean what if I'm not the problem? Cuttress, the only reason I even went to get diagnosed was because the ADD was fucking up my life and I needed to figure out wtf is wrong with me...
Like.. its not like you go to the doctor and he's like 'OHP! you've got add!" ... you have a problem that is so bad you're willing to dish out the hundreds it costs to get tested. So you're question of me not being the problem makes no sense. OBVIOUSLY there is a PROBLEM.
mire than likely additives eaten by you, yuor parent etc have affected you ?.. certainly possible , I mean who knopws what kind of effect adding chemicls to everyday food will have ... oh yes I remember they started doing this in the late 60's0-70's (adding preservatives colours etc) ... hmm now currently we see a massive spike in the worlds dis- ease .
Uhm... I just told you I don't eat food with additives. We have our own garden. I'm telling you, I did my research and I smell BS. People like you want to blame the world for problems without accepting that maybe yes... maybe mental problems are real.
Sometimes its not worth the money to buy organic since studies have shown that organic doesn't have any more nutritional value than conventional foods. On top of that, sometimes organic foods have more hazardous wastes on them since they are more susceptible to spoiling. If its not that much extra, I will buy organic, but in the end, if you wash your food well and grow your own food, I don't see the difference.
Maybe you should see the video Food, Inc. I dont see anything so 'conventional' about conventional foods. It's not about getting extra nutrition by eating organic. It's about avoiding all the extra harmful crap the food industry puts into your food.
Watch the documentary, then come back and reply on my comment after you've seen it.
Dude, I have been emailing my library to get Food, Inc so I can borrow it. They keep giving me excuses as to why they don't have it yet. They told me it hasn't been released on DVD, but I think it has by now. how did you watch it? Did you download it?
Also, like I said organic food has shit in it too because it is organic and spoils faster and is more susceptible to shit.
trouble is with buying food which has been chemical produced using pesticides, growth enhancers and the like cannot just be " washed off" and made 'clean' these substances become part of the make up of the food.
-did you know food is being irradiated to make it last longer on the shelf.. I bet they will say studies have been done an its ok to eat , me I trust the earth
If your food is spoiling , then your buying too much !
just buy what you need daily ?! OR if you grow an pick when needed
I watched it off xbox live, since they had it available. I do believe netflix has it on their website, so, it should be out on DVD.
Sure, organic *may not* be perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than 'conventional'. I'd prefer eating something that is pure, compared to something that has been loaded with hormones, and chemicals, such as MSG, High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Aspartame, Maltodextrose, and the list goes on.
Also, if you think organic is equivalent to non-organic foods, you're sadly mistaken. The food industry wants you to think they are the same. The food you find to be 'conventional' is as conventional as buying a cheeseburger at Mc Donald's. Not that everything that is non-organic is bad, since not everything can be found as organic, but by buying more organic, we are telling the industry that we want change in the foods that we eat.
Uhm... the study said there is no significant nutritional value in the fruits. That's all the study said. Whatever information that gives you is the information that gives you. If you're not retarded, you can read a study and draw a conclusion that is not based on false implications but based on the data represented...
I think `I////////'m going to have to throw in the towel on this conversation, it is going nowhere IMHO and tbh I thought I may have been able to help you, however continually ~I find your attitude makes my teeth itch .
what are your thoughts on the facts that we now currently have a major spike in health issues world wide ... not long after preservative and various additives have started to be added to our food stocks.
Also, I have to agree that yes, sometimes organic has less vitamins than non-organic foods, but let me tell you this..... if the vitamins the non-organic foods are giving you are synthetic, you'd be better off without them anyway. So, really, saying that organic is shit really shows that you really need to educate yourself a bit more about what you eat. I think watching Food, Inc, if you get ahold of it, will be a big eye opener regarding the food industry.
I disagree that you're better off with NO vitamins than synthetic vitamins. That's like telling someone to stop taking vitamins because they are synthetic and just allow them to go on being malnutritioned. Something is better than nothing, I think. I haven't come across anything to tell me otherwise. The 'naturalists' " arguments are not convincing when it comes to these details.
And I never said conventional food is the equivalent of organic food. And some organic foods DO use pesticides
wrong, organic is not using ANY chemicals , if your organic does , then someone is telling you porky pies.
Honestly just stick to what your doing and keep on growing your own veg, herbs etc, eat LOTS of them in a wide mixture of colours and stick to it STRICTLY for 1 year.
Although it will require you to cut out/ditch all junk foods also (ie: food with ANY made man substance in) tbh be better off not touching anything thats been though a factory, just to be sure
Organic food for sure is not perfect and I am really tired of people talking about it as if it is. Its not. There is shit in organic food. And pollutants in it and other crap that must be done to it, too. You have to research each type of food you get because you don't know in which case is the ORGANIC better than the conventional. Its not just as simple as people keep trying to make it. The best thing you can do is to just grow your own food.
Finally got my hands on Food, Inc. It didn't really TEACH me anything I didn't already know, but it gave me some more connections I didn't think about.
But some things they don't ... they don't clarify that somethings are YOUR responsibility. Such as cleaning your food (whether it is organic of conventional), cooking your food well, etc.
I don't know what your point is, but I jumped on you because I suspect you believe anything can be cured with "diet and exercise" which I believe to be false. Sometimes that is not enough.
Great idea, I'd love to see that work to shut these practices down.

What about "legitimate" drugs whose only use is to control children, not for their own good but for the convenience of the so called "care giver"?
About 60% of the children in my children's school are on some sort of meds for ADD, ADHD and/or autism.
Perhaps today's society is the true disorder.

How far are we willing to go to make a dollar should be the question?
mbleek2001 2 years ago 3

I pray to God that, these Psychiatry Drug Makers go to Prison, for months and years!
vsaldanas 2 years ago 14
..Uhm.. why would the makers go to prison? That's like putting sword makers and/or gun makers in prison for creating guns. But like they say "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Ethically speaking, it should be the FDA held responsible for having even approved it and the doctors prescribing harmful drugs to young children who aren't even fully developed.
Nishie900 2 years ago
Yes they should go to prison because the drugs are harmful. Using your example of the gun makers if the gun makers made defective guns that harmed the gun owners and hid the fact then they would go to prison.
logsliderrjh 2 years ago 3
These drugs where not approved by the FDA for use in children. That is the whole point. The drug companies told the doctors it was approved and many doctors then prescribed them and charged Medicaid. That is fraud.
For the Gun analogy to be equal the gun manufacturers would be passing out loaded guns on the playground and trying to jail parents that objected and charging the cost to the police.
Caerbanorg 2 years ago 2
the fda has not approved it. so that point is moot. the doctor has little to no knowledge of the effects of the drugs. sorry to burst anyone's bubble on that. they rely on the salesmen that come to their door, that tell them what the drug is allegedly supposed to do. the drug manus are the one with the army of pharmacists and researchers. and the doctor is relying on that, to fill his scripts.
the drug manus have a direct responsibility in this, if anyone does.

The drug has helped me focus in school so I can graduate, so I really hope god doesn't answer your prayers.

What if you weren't the problem? Many people are being misdiagnosed.
Think about this, if a teacher only obtained 60% on their teachers exam, all the students they teach, can only reach 60%.
If a Doctor only obtained 60% on their Doctors exam, than all the patients they have, have a 40% greater chance of getting sick or being misdiagnosed.
CuttressMedia 2 years ago
What do you mean what if I'm not the problem? Cuttress, the only reason I even went to get diagnosed was because the ADD was fucking up my life and I needed to figure out wtf is wrong with me...
quitejaded 2 years ago
Like.. its not like you go to the doctor and he's like 'OHP! you've got add!" ... you have a problem that is so bad you're willing to dish out the hundreds it costs to get tested.

2 + 2 = ??
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
Uhm... I just told you I don't eat food with additives. We have our own garden. I'm telling you, I did my research and I smell BS. People like you want to blame the world for problems without accepting that maybe yes... maybe mental problems are real.
quitejaded 2 years ago
hmm ok, my bad. but I bet you don't eat all organic all the time and have the occasional 'treat "?? so to speak.
look v good you have a garden , you dont know how much that makes me happy.I
just hope your using it's to full potential, seriously.
YES mental probs are real, I never said the were not !
However, the majority of mental issues can be solved, cured/... call it what you will/ ..by that " simple" change in diet IMHO.
you are what you eat
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
Sometimes its not worth the money to buy organic since studies have shown that organic doesn't have any more nutritional value than conventional foods. On top of that, sometimes organic foods have more hazardous wastes on them since they are more susceptible to spoiling. If its not that much extra, I will buy organic, but in the end, if you wash your food well and grow your own food, I don't see the difference.
quitejaded 2 years ago
Maybe you should see the video Food, Inc. I dont see anything so 'conventional' about conventional foods. It's not about getting extra nutrition by eating organic. It's about avoiding all the extra harmful crap the food industry puts into your food.
Watch the documentary, then come back and reply on my comment after you've seen it.
joemann797 2 years ago
Dude, I have been emailing my library to get Food, Inc so I can borrow it. They keep giving me excuses as to why they don't have it yet. They told me it hasn't been released on DVD, but I think it has by now. how did you watch it? Did you download it?
Also, like I said organic food has shit in it too because it is organic and spoils faster and is more susceptible to shit.
quitejaded 2 years ago
trouble is with buying food which has been chemical produced using pesticides, growth enhancers and the like cannot just be " washed off" and made 'clean' these substances become part of the make up of the food.
-did you know food is being irradiated to make it last longer on the shelf.. I bet they will say studies have been done an its ok to eat , me I trust the earth
If your food is spoiling , then your buying too much !
just buy what you need daily ?! OR if you grow an pick when needed
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
I watched it off xbox live, since they had it available. I do believe netflix has it on their website, so, it should be out on DVD.
Sure, organic *may not* be perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than 'conventional'. I'd prefer eating something that is pure, compared to something that has been loaded with hormones, and chemicals, such as MSG, High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Aspartame, Maltodextrose, and the list goes on.
Plus, organic doesn't use pestisides.
joemann797 2 years ago
Also, if you think organic is equivalent to non-organic foods, you're sadly mistaken. The food industry wants you to think they are the same. The food you find to be 'conventional' is as conventional as buying a cheeseburger at Mc Donald's. Not that everything that is non-organic is bad, since not everything can be found as organic, but by buying more organic, we are telling the industry that we want change in the foods that we eat.
joemann797 2 years ago
" studies " oh ok then , must be right .... the pharma industry tell us they study what they produce and it's 'safe'
yet we see all to often people not getting the help they actually need from meds and often serious side effects.
..sorry I digress.
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
Uhm... the study said there is no significant nutritional value in the fruits. That's all the study said. Whatever information that gives you is the information that gives you. If you're not retarded, you can read a study and draw a conclusion that is not based on false implications but based on the data represented...
quitejaded 2 years ago
oh dear , no talking with you is there .
I think `I////////'m going to have to throw in the towel on this conversation, it is going nowhere IMHO and tbh I thought I may have been able to help you, however continually ~I find your attitude makes my teeth itch .
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
what are your thoughts on the facts that we now currently have a major spike in health issues world wide ... not long after preservative and various additives have started to be added to our food stocks.
2+2 =??
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
Obviously people are eating more junk food more often... which is not good... what is your point?
quitejaded 2 years ago
Also, I have to agree that yes, sometimes organic has less vitamins than non-organic foods, but let me tell you this..... if the vitamins the non-organic foods are giving you are synthetic, you'd be better off without them anyway. So, really, saying that organic is shit really shows that you really need to educate yourself a bit more about what you eat. I think watching Food, Inc, if you get ahold of it, will be a big eye opener regarding the food industry.
Well, I'm out.
joemann797 2 years ago
I disagree that you're better off with NO vitamins than synthetic vitamins. That's like telling someone to stop taking vitamins because they are synthetic and just allow them to go on being malnutritioned. Something is better than nothing, I think. I haven't come across anything to tell me otherwise. The 'naturalists' " arguments are not convincing when it comes to these details.
And I never said conventional food is the equivalent of organic food. And some organic foods DO use pesticides
quitejaded 2 years ago
wrong, organic is not using ANY chemicals , if your organic does , then someone is telling you porky pies.
Honestly just stick to what your doing and keep on growing your own veg, herbs etc, eat LOTS of them in a wide mixture of colours and stick to it STRICTLY for 1 year.
Although it will require you to cut out/ditch all junk foods also (ie: food with ANY made man substance in) tbh be better off not touching anything thats been though a factory, just to be sure
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
Organic food for sure is not perfect and I am really tired of people talking about it as if it is. Its not. There is shit in organic food. And pollutants in it and other crap that must be done to it, too. You have to research each type of food you get because you don't know in which case is the ORGANIC better than the conventional. Its not just as simple as people keep trying to make it. The best thing you can do is to just grow your own food.
quitejaded 2 years ago
Finally got my hands on Food, Inc. It didn't really TEACH me anything I didn't already know, but it gave me some more connections I didn't think about.
But some things they don't ... they don't clarify that somethings are YOUR responsibility. Such as cleaning your food (whether it is organic of conventional), cooking your food well, etc.
quitejaded 2 years ago
I don't know what your point is, but I jumped on you because I suspect you believe anything can be cured with "diet and exercise" which I believe to be false. Sometimes that is not enough.
quitejaded 2 years ago
nope, I don't believe just anything that I'm told, I check, double check then research facts.
I do think diet and exercise can cure many things , although all too often people don't stick rigidly to it and f course don't succeed,
It takes a lot of effort to avoid chemicals in food these days.
I believe that there is (or was) a plant to cure all ailments,
Sometimes it could well be a hereditary issue..
I dont have all the answers but by goodness Im doin me best to keep my family and I healthy
djmisplacedmarblesTV 2 years ago
I do believe that eating correctly for oneself is paramount to optimum health and can cure many ailments with the correct knowledge.
However, all too often people don't stick rigidly to it and of course don't succeed .
It takes a gargantuan effort to avoid additives in food today.
I believe there is a plant (or was) to cure dis-ease affecting every species living on this rock we are all made from!!
I don't have all the answers but by goodness I try my best to keep my family and I healthy
