i felt that the performance could have been alot neater if this amount of people were given to TKSS and bowen. no offence but i realize throughout the years deyi has a prominent problem and that is messiness. music esp percussion and trumpet should improve alot more. and the DM definitely did no better than bowen's, it's just the gimmicks that covered up his flaws.
it would not matter about the no. of people. its is the quality of the formation. even a small amout of people have the same effect too. i agree on your prespective on brasses though. but the perc is the band's highlight. i think its rather good.
plus the DM is really better than bowens. sorry no offence.
well you can't deny the fact that with a bigger strength in the band, there will be more potential for better formations to be done. so i guess if an added advantage of human strength is given to the band, they should make full use of that potential.
prolly diff ppl see in diff perspective. or maybe i'm too accustomed to bowen's style =) both bands are good, but alot of room for improvement.
overseas band still do this style for quick performances. it is ok but i dun think it will impress the judges much besides effects and some gimmicks which might be more unique. but its not all about that. it is about togetherness and most importantly music and deyi has a i little bit weak bass.

And playing original pieces and not pieces arranged especially for marching bands with screaming high notes. Also, overseas marching band dun hav a Drum major doing fancy mace work! u never noe, the judges might find this fresh new idea interesting.
i agree with you deontan,i prefer the precision singapore band execute,but its better doing the flawless transition DCI have to offer,and yes,overseas band does not have DMs,but they have conductors to keep the music in sync,and thats what bowen is trying to adapt to. No offence,but ur band prob's the precision to stop/move at the same time,and the tempo sometimes' off,bowen's lack ppl and music too soft,tk's is their gimmick's too 'grand' and its like a ceremony or something,hope 2010's better!
