  • I, myself, i find this methode real another joke for fooling stupid people, so stupid that they need drawing stuffs, this is for people whit special needs. But i have to admit that a person whit a lot of free time and whit a clear mind can make it work. is much more easy to use dictionary and to practice every word in one simple sentence and afther that to eleborate, whitout drawing and mathematical help. Learning a language is an experience that can change your life or just make it more fun.

  • this would only for people like me, I speak Swedish but I havent done it in a while, thus I have "forgotten" some vocabulary. This will help me to practice and even learn new words. But to learn a new language from scratch with this tecnique... seems pretty impossible unless you wish to speak like a caveman....

  • Okay... I'm all for mind mapping, but honestly... If you're going to use youtube to sell language learning materials, at least make sure that you SPEAK the languages... I mean... Dude... J'aime (that you pronounced as Jame) does NOT mean to love... Just hire someone to do it for you dude... Like I said, I'm all for mind mapping, but the poor accent just made it unbearable...

  • NOONE is teaching the keys.

    Google "MajorMigraine" without space.

I learned Spanish in 5 days...

  • I am in the smartish part of youtube D: i would rather be in the weirdest part than here

  • Oui, il a raison (l'homme agé, qui s'appelle Buzan?), c'est un moyen efficace pour apprendre les listes des mots, mais j'ai pas assez de temps libre pour dessiner des fruits ou des personnes...

  • Its not works, Thats for children... Hey Jimmy this is an apple, see an Apple

  • 1) learning the worlds I can do on my own.

    2) Learning grammar to use the word correctly is what I want to work on.

    3) This isn't very helpful for my situation.

    4) I need motivation.

Ex #2: Me Loved Eat Apple. (Doesn't really work does it?)

Grammar is the only problem I have, along with the motivation.

  • what method is best to learn medicine(medical sciences)? in a way medicine is language too, but thought someone might have better tricks for it.....thanksz

  • Iv just finished the BOST Study Skills Handbook, and it explains this in total with his advised memory stuff and study methods. I could use it within 24 hours, I mean that quickly to remember things I hadnt even tried before. I got the book from the library, so it doesnt need to cost anything.

  • so accurate! learning has to be fun in order to be effective

  • I tried a mind map once..... and i still got lost.

  • @OhWhatASleight I recommend the Book "Speed Reading" by Buzan, where he explains exactly: how to deal with a huge amount of information and WHAT to put on your mind-map, the remember everything...

  • "J'aime" is not "to love"... it's "I love". :D

  • @BennyGothik J'aime is not "I love" its "I like" J'adore is "i Love" lol just messing with you it can mean both :p

  • @pdlsuper7 Non non non et puis non! T'as rien compris toi.

  • how to conjugate?

  • hehehehe some cool after highschool project is up..after 340 days!!

  • mind maps are ok for some studying in school, sort of like making an outline, nothing more..def not of great help in learning a language..offcourse almost any technique is of some help but of great help,..no it is not...

  • what is someone hates colors.. and colors just distracts him/her? :/ how the hell that colored stuff shall work for that person?

  • one tip according to ancient indian'' vastu'' use your room'' north east ''corner to study facing in north direction....it wll help u to learn

  • get a good teacher n your learning wil become simple....tats wat i experience.........moreover we need memory for studies only not for whole life...so dont feel sad if u havnt very sharp memory

  • I have been graphic recording and mindmapping for 6 years now and that I have a great trust in the efficiency of mind mapping. Perhaps this could work for young people. Quite daunting for people who wants to learn a language fast though, they might find this boring specially if materials are not yet provided.

Quite daunting for people who wants to learn a language fast though, they might find this boring specially if materials are not yet provided. Anyway, I would just like to share my excitement about mind mapping to get better grades.

  • This would take ages...

  • reading off the teleprompter much?

  • Mindmaps does show how your brain organizes information in different categories, however, Mindmaps are there to learn visually. As an auditory learner I find mindmaps effective to learn and memorize, but it just takes too long to colour and draw so that the mindmap is not monotonous, in another word: Boring.

  • Viewers, disregard the petty, selfcentred iconoclasm with a damp teatowel of the people below, petty, mindless, typical English - and I hate to say devenu European - jealously, envy, spite, self-loathing, arrogance (en fin du compte) and S a y, like me, who has long admired SmartDraw, hats off gentlemen! Tony Buzan a genius! A lot of people are trying very hard to make the 21c happen. Not the typical YouTube rabble. When not slagging of Ashkenazy, rubbishing Buzan. Buzan arise!

  • It's just a regular ol spider diagram. How does this guy get away with claiming he invented this idea?

  • @candistyx He developed this probably before you were born and your spider diagram is an offshoot of it.

  • I wantz to learn japz!

  • hmm, spent years studying study methods... mind maps are great for somethings, but terrible for languages. The pimsleur method is by far the most effective.

  • By Assimil is better.

  • Does assimil work for native english speakers wanting to learn Spanish?

  • Assimil is the best for learning Spanish because all the recordings are in the target language and the book has the language and your native language translations. You'll have to see a book to know what I mean. Check out ProfASAr.

  • Nice what pimsleur have you done? I'm currently almost done with the second disc of Spanish. I feel I have learned quite a bit

  • Comment removed

  • gave me a headache

  • Good for reading and writing but speaking -NO.

Tony Buzan's pronounciation of some of the foreign words is not correct - e.g. Spanish for apple is manzana but the z is pronounced th, Tony.

  • In south america is pronounced the way he did! It's Manzana = Mansana

  • Correct. but the programme is "Learn Spanish". Where do most of us Brits go on holiday - Spain or Peru?

  • Well, I do agree! I think you might as well learn the spanish of spain in this case. At any rate, I should think learning languages was always a critical issue for people! attending courses in spanish ought to be necessary and MIND MAPPAING is going to be sthg extra that can back one's learning spanish! or any language

  • Spain Spanish has a lisp on C and Z. South and Central America don't.

  • Not a lisp on C everytime. The myth about the lisp is that the court of Spain adopted it so as not to embarrass the king, who had a lisp and it grew from that. But not true.

  • That's only with Castillano... in Latin America z is pronounced s. He actually pronounced it correctly.

  • yeah it looks fun to do..all that drawings and colors...

  • I would have to agree, the only drawback is, of course the price difference.

  • hahahahaha Hallucin8 lol

  • Ok, so far i think it´s an interesting use for learning a new language, but i can´t say it for sure. Hablo desde mexico, y por la ubicacion geografica he tenido que aprender a ser bilingue, nada mejor que practicando. Haciendote entender.

  • I can see how that works for memory mapping related objects etc, but i don't see how it helps in constructing sentences etc.

  • You reduce human abilities...

"There no is need to sentence forming you understand for people" xD

    It is still clear.

But... ok, objects? So they're supposed to draw 10-1000 pictures a day? :D nnnice

  • i don't quite understand where your coming from thie minute but ""There no is need to sentence forming you understand for people"

    is funny :)

  • It's faster than traditional methods because it links words and verbs with other ones working the way the brain does

  • His pronunciation is awful!

  • So you only learn nouns? I've always wanted to speak like a French caveman!

  • I guess you could use it to learn the nouns and use another method for the rest. Sometimes it is hard to learn nouns O_o;;

  • @420Hallucin8 lmaoo

  • He hs the right idea, its just wrong.

First of all, Everyone's brain works differently, some are more visual some more kinestetic (this would suck for them). And some HATE WASTING TIME BY COLORING PRETTY DIAGRAMS. =). They all seem to have the same shape, but this is supposed to mimic the way we think. Ideas may branch differently, different shapes etc in our mind, or may not be images at all, in which case sound would be needed. either way, this is lacking. But i guess its an attempt

  • man u dont get it. you loose 10x more time by writing all the useles fase, instead of colouring. and normal writing does not improve your creativity, memory and stuff like that.

get known a little bit better b4 u start writing such opinion! ur making ppl think wrong about the things

  • If you can give support to your claims using scientific data/experiments, then i may believe you. otherwise, what you just stated is also an opinion.

And These do have their place, they are good with showing relationships between things or remembering if you are visual.

  • I back you up wey, everybody's brain works differently and it's up to you to discover the best way you can learn...only you can tell wheter if you are learning or not and only you can ddevelope better ways to improve. Yet I find that mind maping method kinda amusing and creative. Does it work for me? I gotta get taht to test

  • @Dynamics18 The thing that our brain learn easier are images, and there is a easy example: do you remember better the image of a word or better the image of the first gril/boy you kissed? That's it. Mind Maps try to create movement, color, and even emotions, so that you head can remember it.

  • @Dynamics18 Exactly, this is for visual learners. Kinesthetic learners don't use this at all. You want to learn this same material faster and more fully? TPR and also the only method that has real studies behind it.

  • He does not no spanish =(... lmao.

  • And why is this method better then The Rosetta Stone application or pimsleur??? ... like we don't have an images, where i see innovation is to get the system of some nation ... for example if you think like German then you understand German easily...

  • What is far more tedious and time-consuming and less effective is trying to memorize a list of foreign-language words. Just try not to be van gogh and you'll be done sooner.

  • So I have to draw out and colour in every single word I want to learn...? Bit tedious.

  • It lets you build things to associate words with, which helps in memorization, its an interesting concept at the very least. Just because it might not work for you doesn't mean it won't work for someone else.

  • does it work with Japanese?

  • Hmm... I wonder if this is the true meaning of The Tree of Knowledge?

  • doesn't look too tastey

  • does he speak many languages?

  • Is this available in German?

  • it's sprint in german
