  • OpenOffice does the same thing, and it's free and OpenSource plus it does not need a net connection once installed and it's on Linux, Mac, Windows. No thanks to GoogleDocs, cause what if your network goes down your screwed and have to start all over again, with OpenOffice you just keep going. :-)

  • There is an option which let you work on your Google docs offline. When you are connected to Internet, Just synchronize it. Use DocSyncer, its quite good. Google docs is different form OpenOffice in many ways. OO is desktop app and Google doc is a Cloud application which means, access your files from any corner of the world!!!

  • yeah but Open Office still pawns Google Docs, cause of all it can do. Also some cloud apps. eat CPU usage like crazy, at least for me on my Vista Desktop. I also carry my WinXP Pro Laptop with me most of the time. So for me OpenOffice FTW!!!
