Is the coming technological advancement improving our life quality or not?

I think at this point everyone has to acknowledge that there are pros and cons and a simple "yes" or "no" answer is not doing justice to the complexity of life.

Fact is no one here can know for sure. The best we can do is to estimate and imagine the future based on our current experience and knowledge. And based on what I know I would say the benefits will outweight the cons.

Here are some my arguments:

1) Up until now technology and science have ALWAYS improved our life quality. That might not be true of every individual technology (Weapons) but on a whole no one can disagree that technology made life better.

2) There aren't a lot of people who think of themselves as evil. Most people (even mass-murderers) DO think of themselves as good people. So one could say the root of all evil is in fact stupidity. With intelligence-enhancement we'll see a LOT less of that.

Try talking to a survivor of one of these camps. They are dying of old age, but we still have quite a few of them here from the Danish resistance. While I have heard none of them claim they saw gas chambers, the horrors they lived through and witnessed certainly tell its own tale. One guy I know was forced to clean up after medical experiments on children. It took nearly 60 years before he could even begin to talk about it without breaking down crying.
