From what I have read on the subject, jondishapur is still standing and there is no archeological signs of a fire from the time of sasanid period. Even after muslim rule it still was the main educational center until the house of wisdom in Baghdad rivaled it. Also it was not umar but mamun who founded the darul hikmat during the abassid period (832 CE) and who modeled it after jundishapur and had scholars from jondishapur travel to Baghdad to help establish the sister university darul hikmat.

Peace in the world is the ONLY path, Iran will heal from its wounds and rise again like a phoenix, but has to learn more humility form its past experiences and look more around it and watch out for more traps such as all the ones it has been falling into. Please keep the faith in a change towards a better Iran and a peaceful world for all those who still believe in light.
