the people laughing are those who realise that they've done this, and they've screwed up, and when faced with the truth that accompanies emotions as raw and unadulterated as this, they are ashamed. they are ashamed of how petty they are, and are so uncomfortable, that the only way that their bodies have of releasing that tension is to laugh. they know it's wrong but they have no idea how to properly respond. so they laugh. but take heart, cause at least that shows that they are feeling something

I feel this poem way deep down in a place I've kept suppressed for so long. I'm not gay, but I might as well have been in school.
