What are some other bolt actions that are left handed? I wanted a Remington 597 for a pest control, got a Henry after trying the action a few times. I would love to get a 700, but the left handed models are way too expensive. Same goes for pistols, who has some ambi models? Anything from Glock? My 870 works well left handed, that's about it haha
@HedgehogOutdoors Remington makes the 700 Varmint .308 in a left hand if you can find a shop to order one for you. (Part# 84229) They also make the same rifle in .223 although with a different part number. Glock's are a non-issue. I shoot them both left and right handed. That may be a subject for a later video when we get into carbines and pistols.
We lefties shoot different from you fifth handers backward game baby but I'M VERY NASTY BEHIND ANY TRIGGER, SEE ANOTHER THING US BEING LEFT HANDED WE SOMEWHAT HAVE TO ADAPT TO A RIGHT HANDED WORLD.
@octopusproduction88 I have never see "Snipers" for sale. However many companies (Remington included) produce left handed, bolt action rifles. You can purchase a Remington 700P .308 in left handed configuration if you wish. They are more difficult to find and are usually a special order. However they are out there. You can also have most of the top end custom shops build you a left handed precision rifle.
When I was 8 I was taught to shoot. I am right handed. I always kept moving my head so I could sight with my left eye. When I finally tried to shoot left handed I generally hit everything I aimed at. Find out if you are left eye dominant. You Tube can help. SHOOT LEFT HANDED!
left handed shooters, unite! no longer must we scurry into the night while fat right handers boast how "we shoot with the wrong hand" from now on, bullpup rifles should have the option to eject cartridges on either sides!
No problems. Just make sure you really are left eye dominant (do a search for the simple test). If you find that you are right eye dominant then learn to shoot the rifle right handed. It may feel strange at first, but will serve you better in the long run.
you should check out the bolt extender. it clips onto the bolt and goes over the bolt pivot onto the left side of the gun like a wide V tilted 65 degrees right. so instead of lifting the bolt on the right side, you would push down on the bolt extender on the left side and pull back, then forward then push up.
This is ONE technique. Not the ONLY technique. If you need to run the gun FAST, then you can keep your left hand on the pistol grip and use the right to manipulate the bolt. However as others have said, you will jack up your firing position and if you are shooting on a long range target you will not be able to observe the target while you cycle the action.
the position his right hand is in isn't because its comfortable. he is squeezing the rear support with that hand to provide elevation adjustment and a more solid rest. by using his left hand to work the bolt he is not effecting his rear support or natural point of aim and is able to maintain the same sight picture from shot to shot. if he were to use his right hand to cycle the bolt he would have to rebuild his rest between shots. this method is good for repeated accuracy, not high rate of fire.
This is a demonstration of a technique, not me showing off how fast I can be. You can believe that when I am doing this for real I run the bolt a bit quicker.
next left hande video you do, try pulling the bolt back with your right hand dont put it under the gun just leave it next to the gun and after shooting reach up and pull back the bolt
thats why use your right hand to pull back the bolt sense your right hand is on that side already its easyer to come up with your right hand and not reaching around the scope, ans sense im left handed when i shoot a bolt action standing up i bring my right hand from the front stock to the bolt even knowing you have to keep the weight of the gun up with your left hand you can still keep the gun steady with just one hand, but lying down you is the best way to use a bolt action when you are lefty.
I just use my support hand. It works well with supported positions. In unsupported positions it doesn't work so well.

A Browning BPS ejects down. Great for lefties. Mine is 30 years old. I can shoot doubles better than most. Takes 3" shells,slugs, and buckshot.

@zappp111 Little bit hard to shoot them at 600-1000 yards though. ;)

if you wanna join the army ?

@donayrton
I suspect you are having a problem with eye dominance. A professional instructor can help you out. It should not be a problem for military service.
