Ali is the most genuine kind of spiritual person. He wasn't born Muslim. He converted to Islam because he read about it, read its texts, and it was a faith whose belief system agreed with his morals. Like any religion, there's no backing evidence. It's faith. But it's not about the system, the mosques, the churches. It's about his God, and having hope. Ali is inspirational and gives others hope. Don't take it away.

The religions of today have no more factual backing than Zeus and Apollo did for the ancient greeks. There is absolutely no reason To choose judaism or islam or christianity over judaism or any other combination. None of them have ANY supporting information other than ancient texts. While you might be able to convince me that 99% of all scientists are not orthodoxy religious, and may not subscribe to organized religion. My own experience is when asked most scientists are non-committal, "Not enough data." There are about 1000 different things, that seem completely arbitrary but in which lies the ability for life to exist as we know it.. The binding energy of hydrogen, the relative strengths of forces and quark interaction.

I'd be interested to hear a debate on E.T. the Infidel, but to be honest a prayer for worlds versus Earth doesn't really convince me that Islam is the religion for all humans, aliens, cats, dogs, etc. I'm definitely open to the idea that the universe MAY be a product of intelligent design. But, I find God, as defined by humans, to be lacking in consistency and evidence.
