i'm not 100% sure about this, but if i am correct Luffy is the American/English name, Rufy is the original japanese name and Rubber is the italian name (i'm italian).

@stespin Yes in Japan they pronounce the name Monkey D Luffy as Monkey D Rufy but they spell it Luffy, that's why even in Japan they write Luffy on the wanted posters and not Rufy. If Rufy would be the original Japanese name wouldn't they write Rufy on the posters as well?
