I feel like we should all be accepting of one another, because at the end of the day these people are human, and we should love them regardless. Hi Bella. I watched this film recently on Channel 5 in thre UK, and found it very moving. Am excellent, sensitive portrayal of the life of a young trans girl who was murdered before her life had really begun. Tragic but also wonderful. I was particularly moved by the way the biker community rallied round and escorted Gwen on her final journey, as I am a biker myself, and coming out to my biker club as transgendered was one of the more difficult things I have had to do. i watched the film it was an awful crime. just coz someone is gay or transgender does not mean they deserve to be killed. They are noramal people no diffrenent to anyone else. if someone did this to my son/daughter i would kill them. the lawer in this film wonder if he would be so understand if they had killed his child. I cried the first time I saw this movie. One of my favourite singers is Dana International, a transgender singer from Israel. Seeing this movie, and being a fan of Dana made me develop a strong respect for transgender people because of all they have to go through in their lives. I love transgender people just like anyone else.
I do believe that she did not deserve to be brutally murdered nor beaten under any circumstance, but from what I've learned, I still have to take into consideration the men she engaged in sexual acts with who found out she was not (biologically/anatomically) female. Even the Catholic church is now embracing gay, lesbian and trans people, and celebrating the differences that make us all unique and special human beings. The last sermon I attended was about how social rejection is incredibly harmful to children and adults. And that acceptance is the only remedy for it.

@keyki421 Science has proven that we all start out as FEMALE in the early fetal stages of being in the womb. Males are basically over developed females in a physical sense. In a mental sense males have a different brain pattern, but some keep their female brain. If you pay close attention to the clitoris it looks like a tiny penis, the lips look like it could've potentially been a scrotum, and the female ovaries looked like they could've been testicles had they've been dropped.

This movie was on yesterday evening in Holland. I was moved and feel very sad again. Following the movie "A soldier's girl" which is also very moving. I do not understand people who can't accept others as they are. It makes me so sad again....Why???

Thank you for posting this. Its sad what happened to Gwen. I know a family friend who is going through the same thing. I feel like we should all be accepting of one another, because at the end of the day these people are human, and we should love them regardless. They really just want to live normal lives, feeling like the body they were born into is really there own. People shouldn't have to feel like they have to hide. It might be shocking at first but we have to be more accepting & loving.

Hi Bella. I watched this film recently on Channel 5 in thre UK, and found it very moving. Am excellent, sensitive portrayal of the life of a young trans girl who was murdered before her life had really begun. Tragic but also wonderful. I was particularly moved by the way the biker community rallied round and escorted Gwen on her final journey, as I am a biker myself, and coming out to my biker club as transgendered was one of the more difficult things I have had to do. I cried the first time I saw this movie. One of my favourite singers is Dana International, a transgender singer from Israel. Seeing this movie, and being a fan of Dana made me develop a strong respect for transgender people because of all they have to go through in their lives. I love transgender people just like anyone else.

I do believe that she did not deserve to be brutally murdered nor beaten under any circumstance, but from what I've learned, I still have to take into consideration the men she engaged in sexual acts with who found out she was not (biologically/anatomically) female. Yet and still their actions were completely uncalled for and killing her shouldn't have been a thought in their minds.

Whether they were born a male or a female is no one's business but their own. If they are transgender, then they are already whatever sex they believe they are. You shouldn't have to go up to every person and go, "Hi, I'm a girl now but when I was born I was a boy."
He didn't trick them. He shouldn't have had to say anything to begin with. If a person feels like a woman, they are. If they feel like a man, go for it.
If they are close to someone, then they can tell them.

It's counterproductive in the life of someone transgendered. It also gets in the way of romance and natural physical attraction, between them and their significant other. The very moment two people fall in love there's supposed to be a mutual, unspoken understanding. According to society transgenders can't have that same romantic experience.

HE wasn't killed because he was transgender. He was killed because he lied to people and gave them oral sex under the pretense that he was a girl. It was no different then someone killing their wife for cheating on him. @keyki421 Gwen maybe dead, but homophobia and transphobia is all but dead. I've come to terms with my own gender identity disorder, I'm in the process of transitioning from male to female. The thought of being harmed or killed just for being transgendered is too real and frighting. But I'd rather deal with the dangers of being trans then live unhappy as a dysfunctional male. I somewhat agree that Gwen put herself in that situation, but she didn't deserve to be murdered.

@keyki421 Science has proven that we all start out as FEMALE in the early fetal stages of being in the womb. Males are basically over developed females in a physical sense. In a mental sense males have a different brain pattern, but some keep their female brain. If you pay close attention to the clitoris it looks like a tiny penis, the lips look like it could've potentially been a scrotum, and the female ovaries looked like they could've been testicles had they've been dropped.

@keyki421 If Gwen was a freak then we're all freaks, because we're all God's children and a part of nature. One part of nature that most people find unfortunate and rarely like to talk about, are those who have a genetic mutation or a birth defect. Things like hermaphrodites (being born with both male and female genitalia), being inter sexed, gender identity disorder, all of these things should be taught in the health class of every middle and high school, nation wide.

@keyki421 I'm not saying teach all the kids to be transsexuals, and you're ignorant to think that it's just some contagious behavior anyone can pick up. I want kids to understand that gender can be a lot more complicated than merely comparing genitalia. This is the 21st century, and the caveman way of thinking in our society has got to end. I want the next generation of kids to be tolerant and accepting of those different from them, gender identity and sexual orientation included.

@keyki421 Males can have breasts, I've had breasts ever since I could remember and couldn't get rid of'em no matter how much weight I lost. I naturally have a feminine voice, naturally thick, curly, shiny hair. I have curvy hips, etc. this is without hormones, it's how I went through puberty. You aren't a woman, you're a bitch and that's a whole other species of female. I'm more woman than you'll ever be.

@keyki421 True, at the moment trans females can't get pregnant (medical scientists are working on that). But that's the only thing biologically born women got on us. Any woman can spread her legs and get knocked up. But some of y'all biological women got babies you've thrown away, and single dads you've kicked to the curb. Us trans women have the nurturing instinct to be wives and mothers as well. We can marry and adopt just fine. Oh, and I hope you get a transgendered son.

@keyki421 Nobody changes their gender, transgenders change their body to fit their internal gender. We transgenders recognize that gender is mental, not physical where gender is defined by genitalia. There's scientific proof that supports the fact you can have a female brain in a male's body and vise-versa. If you look, act, think, and feel like a women despite having a penis, then you ARE A WOMAN.
