So it's the worst thing in the world to smoke pot, but in a few year's time he'll be drinking like a pro. Moral of the story is that the mores of society determine what the socially-acceptable narcotics are. I'm not a pro-420 guy, but even I know that alcohol and cigarettes have more immediate links to mortality. Why not crack down on smoking the same way?

I've heard people say this was like the movie Reefer Madness.  No it wasn't. It was a "don't do drugs" movie, sure. But it wasn't exactly super far-fetched or anything. I've smoked a ton of pot (ok, maybe only a half-ton), and I'd say this is a pretty good flick. The part where he nearly killed his bro was over-the top, but the bit with the relationship with the girl was actually pretty spot on...

As much as I like this, I don't understand why they made him seem so much cooler when he was high(the way he dresses) because that's not getting the anti drug message out there really. Great episode though; one of my favorites along with "The Pin Balls", and "Schoolboy Father". I'd love to see more that have not been released on dvd.

I've smoked weed and taken opiates since I was 16. I have a college degree and live in my dream city doing my dream job and am in a happy 4-year relationship. The dumbest thing I've done drug-wise is blowing lotsa $ on pot in college...which I'm paying for now.

People are affected differently by drugs. They really CAN make u lazy and irresponsible, but only if u abuse them. If you can't control your use, you have no business using. Don't blame the drug, blame yr. lack of self control.

I started HS a good athlete and popular, and ended HS In 1986, a stoner. Started college, quit smoking weed and made a complete turn around. My parents divorced right b4 HS, and my lifestyle changed. I am almost 41 now, with a good life, while most of my stoner friends, have nothing. I am not trying to preach, but I think ppl are better off staying on the right track, & many that don't, wake up my age, without a pot to piss in, wondering what went wrong. (No pun on not a "pot" to piss in) :)

Thanks for your comment. The other point I would make to young ppl is how important it is to put your time in when you are young, meaning that it is easy to slack/party in your 20's, but b4 you know it come the 30's then 40's, and I know a lot of ppl stuck in shitty careers, or renting apartments, because they didn't put the time in when they had that young energy. You don't want to be some 30 yr old's "boy" in your place of work, when you are 45.
