Domenic Troiano Band w/ Roy Kenner

Funny. I had a cassette recording for 20 years by now. It's labeled only "Troiano".Had no idea who he was, just liked it enough to keep it after my big cassette purge in the 90s. I knew it was 70s music, had that funky syncopated jazz/pop sound that dominated before simpler beats took over. But I figured it was some fly by night I'd never be able to replace, so I kept it. Now I know it's Fret Fever and I also know who Troiano is and where to find more of his stuff. :-) Thanks for the post.

When Domenic came out with "Tricky"it just sent shivers up my spine.The guitar and horns!!And the vocals were so powerful.This album turned me unto jazz and I will never look back.Tell me why to this day not one song off this album has been played on Canadian radio!!what a crock of shit!And you wonder why people don't patronize Canadian music !Play some of the better music you idiots instead of what these asshole station owners dictate.PS,bring back the old CFNY!!

Roy Kenner was the best voice that Toronto had to offer in the 60's. Working at the Gogue Inn and other venues plus booking The Rogues and Roy Kenner & The Associates for my high school dances was its own reward. I was blessed to have been a part of the Toronto music scene then and I still love the style today. It is a shame that it was before its time because it was so different.

Does anyone know where I can find any of the very early music (videos or othe) with the early "Roy Kenner and the Associates" band ? Have been searching but no luck so far.

Some guitarists can get a good tone, no matter what kind of gear they use. Then there's Troiano, who consistently managed a thin, strangulated unpleasant guitar sound regardless of what axe, and amp he used.

@Rogerrumjet My brother saw Troiano many many times in L.A. from the Mandala days thru Bush and his solo days, jamming at "Cappy's" he always said that they never really captured his sound properly on vinyl. Still the first two solo albums on Mercury both sounded good

God when is this from. Roy, good singer. Very good stuff. When Roy left-exited the James Gang, I think he joined a band called Law. Saw the LP in a used record shop, always wondered what it sounded like.

i still have that album. used 2 go see law with roy kenner in a town called aliquippa pa. about 20 north of pittsburgh in a place called the villaS 007 lounge. also when bob seger ramblin gamblin man was just out, he played there also
