@MACED0NN Actually the modern Greeks ARE direct descendants of ancient Greeks. It's already proven by DNA. The DNA of the Greeks has been shown to be almost identical to the DNA of Southern Italians. And as you should know, Southern Italians are themselves descendants of Ancient Greeks, since Southern Italy and Sicily were heavily colonised by ancient Greeks. In fact in southern Italy they still speak a dialect of Greek called 'Griko' [References,Cavalli-sforza et al , Tian et al]
