I don't think so. What makes evolution concrete is that it can be observed, measured and tested, just like electronics. Evolution makes testable predictions just like other areas of science. E.g. we have so many excellent sequences of fossils illustrating gradual changes over time because the theory of evolution tells us where to dig to find particular fossils.

I have confidence that the vast majority of scientists feel the way I do, that the truth is far more important than maintaining a status quo. That's why you ought to admire Creationists and other kinds of fundamentalists (also "sceptics"/denielists, adepts of cospiracy theories etc). It takes GREAT effort pretending not to see simple things, or if they really don't, then they are an interesting freaks of nature, sort of brain damaged version of two-headed animal.

@SwineNahNah well technically religion is brain damage. Have you not heard that several years ago scientists discoverd a section of the brain that is responsible for religion. Some people (creationists) have larger ones, others, (rational thinkers) have very small ones, so technically it could count as brain damage

@deathman1021 you underestimate neuroplastics... at least that is what i think it is called in english :) the same way concert-pianists have larger "musical" brain parts. the constant "use" of the religious parts makes them grow bigger.

@robertgaudlitz hmm i had no idea, even so, some people are simply born with a knack for certain traits, for example music, you can learn but some people are just good from the start.

@deathman1021 that is absolutely true, but you can still literally TRAIN your brain :) on the downside, if all you encounter is religious indoctrination, like the poor boys (and that is ONLY boys, because we can hardly allow GIRLS to learn how to read) that are cramped into madras in the madrasahs of the islamic world are put through, you will most likely have the worst part of your supposedly beautiful mind enlarged. who needs basic literal skills, math, science and foreign languages, eh :D

@robertgaudlitz I kinda find it sad what happend to the islamic world, they went from bastion of science during the christian dark ages to having their own, and they still live in it, i just hope we will eventually come to a point where people finally realize the harm religion does and put a stop to it.

But either way, either through training or genetics certain parts of the brain (specifically that religious part) need to learn that we no longer need it and go away

@deathman1021 Unfortunately natural selection doesn't select against that section of the brain. In fact, I think those people have more kids, so it selects for it.

@sjh7132 Perhaps a surgical procedre or a law against teaching that shit to kids should be made, but as it stands that is a protected form of child abuse
