Alright I never played any games past crystal but this system only worked for the gba ones. I have a couple questions. 1. Is there a set of easy to use files like these ones for the older game roms and 2. if there is where can i find it and 3. Why is only a small portion of text editable in this? I want to be able to change all the text in the game not just the first couple cities and only about 30 pokemon instead of all of them... I'm not complaining because what it has is great

Oh. And it turns out, when i load up the rom i edited with map editor, it just is a white box when i run it with VBA

I have some problems. The text editor wont load the rom, so i cant change any text. The item editor says that there are no offsets for the language, which is english. So i cant use that. the starter pokemon wont let me save the starters, it also has error message. The map editor seems to work fine though.

@jasonjonesaz The only thing that could really be illegal is owning the ROM if you don't own the actual game. They usually look the other way about that, though. Hacking it may be illegal, but if you're creating your own content and you give them credit then it's fine.

Ok well I got most of the programs to work... Unfortunately it wouldn't work for "leaf green" like I wanted. It seems like only sapphire and ruby.

Now I just need to learn how to create events and put sprites of my own in. Please message me if anyone out there knows how to do that :)

Non of them will work, except for AdvancedMap because it says that something is missing or invalid. One of the COMCT one. Its different in each one.
