  • I think I saw one of these today! Just had to check what I saw.

  • whats the name of that fire source which did you use,i making those balloons and i need some good fire source?

  • @nebula25x

you'd be surprised what someone can do on their computer these days, pirated software similar to what big budget movies use and an imagination is all you need.

  • Omg its a UFO, they are real. UFO UFO UFO. and did i say UFO or did i say im a stupid person trying to "debunk" something by saying something retarded.

  • i saw 3 of these in the sky last night. they were beautiful!! xx

  • Could you tell me how you made this?

  • Mystery of the UFO's solved!

  • @OoPiNkIsHoO

    nope wrong answer

  • @legionaire2005 Keep kidding yourself, kid.

  • where you stoned?

  • @Troforso "were you stoned" and prolly

  • stop jacking chineese lanters

  • There is only one problem i found about this... If the wind takes this into a dry forest than it is a complete catastrophe

  • can chinese lanterns change direction and formation? Just saw around five of these circle each other, bounce off each other go into lines move up and down, break away then come back together, bobb up and down with one going up while the other next to it goes down and so forth. I'm not sure people have invented lanterns that can do that. Oh, and then they got smaller and smaller until they dissapeared in the space of 20 seconds.

  • The Maritime and Coastguard Agency says coastguards and lifeboats are sent out needlessly. In 2010 the agency recorded 1,500 flare incidents, of which 500 were believed to be false alarms caused by lanterns, while the CAA says they also pose danger to landing aircraft.

  • Crops are also at risk; last summer in Oxfordshire, a blaze from a lantern destroyed 2.5 hectares of barley. Litter is also a problem, said the NFU: "The people releasing lanterns wouldn't dream of dumping rubbish, but that's what is happening."

  • Civil Aviation Authority wants a ban on the sale of the sky lanterns, which are paper and wire hot air balloons fuelled by a naked flame. "People have no control where they land," said Nick von Westenholz, government affairs adviser for the NFU. Dorset and Somerset fire service said it had seen a sharp increase in lantern fires in the past year. Farmers say cows suffer stomach damage from eating the wire of fallen lanterns.

  • You should be reported for littering.

  • OMG ITS A UEFFOHH

  • I let one off two seconds ago and it's fuckin stinkin

  • hes funny..even me laughing all the way listenin...heheh:))

  • Dickheads launch these things

  • Ok it's really weird becuase once I saw "weird orange lights" floating around in the sky and found that some had been proved chinese lanterns, so I looked up some videos of chinese lanterns, and the color was the same, but the shape of these and what I saw are different

  • well the thing i saw was something that went two miles or so into the air then all of a sudeen went on a straight east path couldnt of been a chinese lantern

  • EVERYONE THIS ISNT PHOTO SHOPPED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY WE HAD THESE THE DO WORK ITS NOT A MYTH WHEN THEY GET TO HOT THEY BURN INTO ASH! ITS NOT A UFO!

  • they let it fly then i mile down a kid sees it and goes "dady call the military i saw a UFO over there see it"

  • chinese lanterns is the best explanation i can come up with for the ufos i've seen in bristol recently. it's very hard to remember EXACTLY what the ufos looked like and i'm colourblind so i can't tell if that makes any difference, but looking at this video it looks like it probably was some of these. i wish people wouldn't launch them though, for us ufo hunters out there it's just a big waste of time!

  • for fucks sake mate stop smoking crack!

  • another UFO is launched lololol

    loved it!

  • They're trying to get these banned in the UK. Something about landing on farmland and livestock eating them??? And emergency services mistaking them for distress flares!!!?The killjoys of the nanny state are at it again!

  • i saw 2 ufo's last nite over oswestry, shropshire. they looked like these but stayed still for ten minutes and hardly changed position. evry1 says it was these but no-way man, how can they appear out of nothing and then dissapear into thin air like they were never there in the first place? seriously, a few minutes l8er, they were about 10 miles away, same thing happened, appseared, disapeared, wat lantern can do that? surely the wind wud blow these all over the place like a baloon? ufos exist!!

  • I let one off a few weeks ago and it just hung in the air, hundredes of feet up for ages, then went out. Depends how much there is up there. The next day we found it in the neighbour's tree so that's how far it didn't travel. Straight up, straight down.

  • that's pretty interesting u say that man, that really wud explain wat i saw the other night (last wednesday). the only thing is dude, i still have truble believing that u say it never moved at all. why? wind or no wind, chinese lanterns wud move, simple as that. how long exactly did it stay up in the sky, 30, 40 seconds? newayz, there was 2 of them, both appeared/ dissapeared at the exact same time almost as if they were following each other in unison and stayed in the air for about 5 minutes.

  • Yep, the wax wick lasts about 5 minutes before it burns out. So it would make sense if somebody lit one lantern after the other, they'd both burn out at slightly different times. The only direction mine moved in was straight up because there was no wind on that day. Then it went out and floated straight back down.

Honestly dude, what you saw was a chinese lantern. They're taking off in a big way in this country and there's a lot of people thinking they're UFOs.

  • thankyou very mauch dude for bringing me back 2 earth!!! lol no seriously, thankyou :)

  • For what it's worth I do believe in UFOs. The skies are probably full of them. But to my mind, why would they advertise their presence by being lit-up like a Christmas tree? They'd probably be invisible, or at least turn their headlamps off.

  • thats a very interesting point and ya know wat, i thought the exact same thing the the night i saw this, fair dooz pal, fair dooz!!! perhaps they want 2 be noticed? fuck noz

  • Loads(50+) of these? over Derbyshire last night, if they were lanterns how were they going in formation and against the wind?

  • The wind's pretty steady up there. It might be strong, but it's uniformed. If it moves one item in one direction, it will move everything pretty much equally.

  • Ive seen lots of these aswell in Ashbourne, Derbyshire

  • i saw about 50 of those chinese lanterns but they didnt look like them because they were white not orange or yellow and they were going backwards and forwards but they did kind of look like ufos.....i wonder....????

  • i saw about 20 of them the other night but they where twice the size of these and where bright orange!

  • yes bright orange like the sun on a really hot day is the best way to describe wat i saw last nite, no chinese lantern can appear and then dissapear out of nothing into nothing, plus, the wind wud blow them all over the place like it was a baloon, wat i saw just stayed stationary for about 5 minutes then just dissapeared and there was 2 of them!!! chinese lanterns are the cover-up of wat we are seeing in ur skies at nite man!! spred the word, ufos exist and its up 2 us 2 sound our voices!!!!

  • i totally agree with u, i mean look how it takes off in the wind, its waving about like a palm tree! what i saw was exactly like wat u saw, sat still for ages there went bk and forth then flew off really fast! very strange lantern lol

  • i thaught it was ufo made vid and showed BBC News :D

  • So many people are fools

  • Or they are high on meth, LOL

  • like u to belive that every single light the same as what everyone saw is a lantern??? come on man stop livin scared!

  • So many people mistake these for UFOs

  • @Inazumaa Just a few min ago i mistaked one for a ufo :P

  • thats so funny... what do you do for an follow up? Open a tin of beans? :-)

    Just kidding.

  • How many people has these lanterns fooled in being UFOs????

  • too right, i have a guy filling my pm with sam saying what he video'd were hundreds of space ships, not just the logical chinese festival lanterns....

  • Someone over here must be releasing hundreds of these so called lanterns every week without being seen. And all over the world. They must of spent a bomb on them and enabled them to vanish and reappear in different places. And also travel fast and change directions.

  • @sim0b Either that, or swamp gas.

  • @sim0b and been doing it for a few thousand years.

  • @rassmalaii Lmao me last night, they were going in pairs, i shit myself lol, i thought they might be sum next government planes doing sumthing or ufo's lol!

  • So cool!!!

  • Great Wish Lantern Video

  • see this is what ithink these orange lights everyone keeps seeing in the sky are .

  • YEAH! I saw 30 or so of these or UFOs yesturday at 10pm But I dont have a clue.

  • im wondering how to make those.. pls teach me

  • take a garbage bag, and a candle.

tie the candle to the top of the bags handle things

make sure the flame would point into the bag.

light that shit, let it fly!

  • Comment removed

  • Love the woman laughing when it bumps into the lamppost, very funny

  • ITS A UFO !!

  • that is the coolest toy I have ever seen, but what kind of material is wrapped around the candles? Is that the ancient chinese secret? lol I have to know this

  • I made it out of extreme boredom one evening, all it is, is five standard sheets of tissue paper glued together with elmers white glue, four plastic drinking straws stapled together in an X pattern at the bottom and a bunch of birthday candle stubs waxed together. depending on how heavy your ballon is you'll have to wait for the candles to burn down quite a bit before it's light enough to fly. be patient. and make sure there is practically no wind (none at all is best.

  • thank you

  • no bother, did you get it to work??

  • I need to get some tissue paper for this project...it's my friend's birthday today and he would be surprised to see this lol!!!

  • @rbmillward Did you use any kind of flame retardent spray on the ballon? If so what did you use?

  • @sweetdictator I used retard-b-gone ;P

  • how do you get the light in it?

  • it's about twenty birthday candles cut in half and waxed together

  • u nuts suck your balls

  • wait, is that a compliment?
