excellent tutorial, this worked perfectly on my ubuntu 10.04 LTS server. I was looking all over the place to find out how to make a local shared folder within my network and had no luck until this video!
have got problem in installing samba when i key in sudo apt-get install samba nothing happen as in theirs no download taking place what should i do for samba to start working in my PC
dude. it doesn't work. followed step by step and nothing. are there any windows settings i should change? turned off everything too (firewall, antivirus, etc)
Tnx man !! You are excellent teacher i like your approach to subject. I watched all your videos about samba. Keep doing great tutorials. I wish you all the best in new year.
Thanks so much for the video. Very easy to follow and understand. I have a small problem in that I can see the server from Windows but can't connect to it.
The Windows diagnostic provides the following message. "The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 445, possibly due to firewall or security policy settings, or because it might be temporarily unavailable. Windows couldn’t find any problems with the firewall on your computer. "
Very nice explination. I did mine like the way samba say's to do it and i like mine to be encrypted. I hate vi I rather just use nano. But really good video.
You did a great job explaining this. Thanks!!!
