  • peopel should never wear fur in this day in age.

  • John is right,it is better to eat vegetables than meat. meat actually makes people have cholesterol and age quicker.

  • thanks John and all other vegans!

  • Good for John!

  • Sigh...yea was the fox (even more than the rest of the hideous, monstrous way they were all animals were treated which was unspeakable) that hit me the hardest too. The look of why and help and agony were so plain I will never life long enough to forget that image nor do I want to. I am glad I had the guts to want to finally know the truth of what happens and not hide anymore. Earthlings . com

  • Wow this was a surprise, I'm impressed! :)

  • Yes sir Mr. Kent sir

  • You got it!!!!!

I wish everyone could make this conection to life, all life :))

    THANKS

  • See this is a reasons that I admire John Schneider so much because he cares about what is going on unlike some celebs that don't give a crap also another reason is that he stand for what he believes in and he's not afraid to show how he feels and what he thinks. Hey John Schneider I saw this video and what I notice the most is that you have some wonderful feelings when comes to caring about important things. And like I said I admire you as both the actor and as a human being that you are. :)

  • Wow! Not something most people think about. People get caught up in TV, video games, movies and forget about what really matters. I've never murdered an animal in my life and never will. I hit a dog once while driving and I cried. Wish I could help in some small way.

  • Way to go John. For thos oppposing, it's so bizarre to me that so many people who believe they are free thinkers believe the media and the meat and dairy industry's billion dollar brainwashing campaign To be Vegan is a philosophy. We thrive on a plant based diet and are far healthier than people on a typical American diet. To quote Alice Walker, Animals were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites or women for men." We need nothing from animals. Let them be.

  • Right on Man---Follow your heart.

    Namaste

  • @erickeown1 Actually Eric, the food shortages are because we are feeding all the grain that should feed people to cattle instead. The earth could feed 2.5 billion people on a standard American meaty diet (which is unfortunately catching on in Asia) or 10 billion people on a vegetarian diet.

  • @erickeown1 "Diet for a New America," which documents the effect of meat-laden diets on world hunger is a book you might find fascinating. Here's a link to it just in case you are interested:

  • @erickeown1 This page won't let me post the link but it is easy to search on Amazon. Definitely worth checking out.

  • @erickeown1

Dear Eric, do some reading. It's actually the opposite of what you are sayng. People are starving on this planet beccaue people ARE eating animals. 85% of grain produced on this planet is fed to animals raised for food - while people are starving! The Amazon rainforest is being destroyed - for what - to graize cattle! 80% of the land cleared land is used to graize cattle and the other 20 % is used to grow gm soy to feed factory farmed animals.

  • @MyBatcat There would be plenty of grain and wheat etc if the government would stop paying farmers not to grow crops.

  • @erickeown1 you are so hopelessly wrong --that is every meat eaters argument. You are the reason so many animals are bred tortured and killed for food. Will you please shut the fuck up and watch Meet your Meat and Earthlings. Watch and learn you sad ignorant brainwashed corpse muncher.

  • Respond to this video... There is no reason to treat cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys like they do in HUGE factory farms. Look at that video "Farm to Fridge". There is no need to treat animals badly when you can go veg. Going veg is healthier, cleaner, smarter and has so many benefits. Eating meat is ignorant, disgusting and cruel. John you are amazing for realizing that animal exploitation is unwise. Thank you so much! X

  • Respond to this video... There would be no animal population problem if everyone went veg because only animal farmers/exploiters breed cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys. Only very few breed them for other purposes. That is a weak argument. There is no reason NOT to go veg. There is every reason to go veg. Animals are treated poorly at farms, there is no need to allow this to continue. Go veg! X

  • OMG - this video made me cry, but I'm glad you posted if so people can become aware. John, you are a good man. There needs to be more caring and compassionate people like you in the world. Hopefully this will touch people enough to help!

  • I hope all of these celebrities who are in the know will join the new Humane Party and promote it. They stand for undoing a lot of the methods that are used behind the scenes to obtain animal products that are cruel and barbaric. It;s gotten out of control, people, and like John said, it you only knew...you would do something. Good luck, John, and thank you for sharing your astonishment at the facts. Love and Peace.

  • Thank you so much for posting this.

  • thankyou, it's time we stopped this

  • wow.

  • Is he a vegan now? I hope so.

  • Thank you so much for this video.

  • i love him so much. he's the only actor i see that can really express the true emotion that he is feeling. That's what a real man acts like. because the ones that just hide it all and don't care are the fake ones because deep inside if something happened to a loved one or them they care.. i hope i get an acting career and act with him one day. God Bless. :)

  • Thank you John.

Education is the key way to stop the cruelty.

If there were no market, it would be over.

First priority is no fur for "fashion".

In some parts of the world where it's cold, must find a way to bring fabrics that have been invented that work better than fur.

    Then, we'll get somewhere.

  • Thank you so much for doing this ! I found out about the evil of fur/meat/entainmant of animals when I became a eywitness to aniamal abuse/ cruelty from being a truck driver..I once picked up at a meat processing plant and delieverd to the grocery stores. Please contact me if you would like to do more to help animals. I campaign with the help of PETA .

  • Good for you, John, for educating yourself, and making positive changes to help the animals. Spread the word, you have some power to affect change! This was so moving.

  • Thank you for the moving video John!!! I'm deeply touched!!! Sometimes I wish this was still the '80s and the original "Dukes" was still on TV (Not reruns) and in its prime!! I have seen clips from new "Dukes" flick and it is EXTREMELY appalling!!! The warm, tender and caring spirit of the orginal "Dukes" is COMPLETELY gone!!! You and Tom Wopat will ALWAYS be Bo and Luke!!! YEEEHAAA!!

  • Well spoken. Ignorance is not bliss in this situation, John, and everyone else coming into this enlightenment. I hope this changes, and the philosophy goes global as quickly as possible. Whoever you are, share your knowledge with others. For some, such as I, that might include a college campus. For others, such as John, one might be capable of reaching a larger audience. Very inspired by this video, and by the film--after which seeing, decisions to change my lifestyle were immediately made.

  • He may be thinking of his younger Dukes of Hazzard days of being Bo Duke & wishing Denver Pyle & Waylon Jennings were still alive. I wish this was the 80's & all was OK, & all of the great actors we grew up watching were still alive. I'd hope they're in a better place. The future isn't all that & a bag of chips, give me the 80's ANYDAY! John, you always have & always will be, Bo Duke! Just like Hasselhoff with always be Michael Knight. No one can take you all's places!

  • What a beautiful soul.

  • Very moving, sometimes is easier to talk to a lens than a back-talking conservative ignorant, I only wish more people would listen instead of argue like stubborn children. Nevertheless altruism prevails.

  • Watch Earthlings and come back and say the same thing - do it -- oh, wait, never-mind -- you're the meat industries favorite customer -- the one who doesn't want to know what's behind their curtain.

  • I'm thrilled to see this video, John. I've been a vegan for 12 years, and you can be a vegan too. Thank you for watching Earthlings, and for sharing your thoughts with the world.

  • Wow...this is a heartfelt and sincere video. Your true self, your true character are coming out now John. Now life starts for you. The veil has been lifted...........

  • Thanks John, I've posted to my Facebook page. I could only stomach the trailer so far and have been so freaked out by what I've seen. Thankfully my dog lies next to me safe from these sick people. I'm in a state of shock.

  • Thank you John for your powerful and brave words!

  • I am so proud of John.

  • You are awesome for sharing this moment!!!!!

We can only hope many more people will have this moment in their lifetime.

    Peace

  • I am SO GLAD to hear someone who believed that we were freaks, idiots, elitist, etc. actually looked into what we're talking about and saw the horror that is animal enterprises. Thank you so much for putting this out there and changing at least some of your ways. I'm sure you'd be a very welcome spokesman for any AR organization.

  • I wish he had posted some links for people. But glad he has chosen to educate himself. I hope others do the same. If you can witness what really goes on and then continue doing it, well then at least you are educated and not ignorent.

I personally can't imagine how anyone would be able to continue contributing to the suffering that goes on after opening their eyes to it, but sadly, people tend to amaze me all of the time.

Thanks for posting John, it has been a long time since we have spoken

  • ive seen those beautiful deers runnin around and wonder how anyone can shoot them they are so pretty to look at ..those little squirrels

  • @ramlinrose2 , think about the less fortunate people who need to hunt to provide food for their family. If your future children were starving, and the only way to get food on the table was to hunt won't you go hunting to provide food for your family?

I love deer too, i've actually gotten close enough to pet one once at a zoo :). but nobody is going to make my future children starve!

As for the fur, only if its used for survival, ie, if I love in a really cold country.

  • @nickwalco Like most people who don't know what they are talking about you sound like a babbling idiot.

We think in todays society there's no reason for this cruelty. If you live in a africa and don't know where your next meal is coming from I'm not going to judge you if you hunt and animal and eat it. But if your some over weight american who is just paying people to slaughter animals for you on a massive scale because you're too ignorant too know better then you need to stop what you're doin

  • @nickwalco Your 'future' children are not going to starve as long as we stop producing animals on such a large scale and all switch to a plant based diet. It's a renewable resource with much less of an impact on the planet then farming animals for consumption and using more plants and fresh water to raise those animals is only causing your 'future' children to starve. Think about the logic because raising animals for food when we CAN live perfectly fine on a plant diet... It doesn't add up.

  • @nickwalco Also there is NO need to wear fur anymore. I mean if you have a computer to go on youtube then I'm sure you have the resources to go out and buy a jacket not made out of a dead earlthings skin...

Also you should think twice before you visit a zoo because that's just opening a whole new can of cruelty.

Great video, thank you for posting. I love the emotion and I'm glad you have seen now what our ignorance does to billions of innocent beings every year.

  • i dont buy fur coats ........ anyway

  • I have NEVER bought fur coats and NEVER will and this video comment by John just makes my soul bleed for our innocent companions. GOD please help John to make a difference. PLEASE please send your Angels to him and give him the strength to fullfill his loving mission. AMEN +

  • It's never too late to learn and I believe you can make a difference...a big difference.

Bless you for caring. Many don't.

  • Thanks, It's always good to see other people react to the knowledge in the same way that I did. Sometimes it feels like so many people don't care, or would just simply prefer not to know. Gives me a bit of hope to know even one more person is seeing what we are doing to other feeling beings that share the planet with us and wants to help change it.

  • Thank you for your words. Your truth is an inspiration. Thank you.

  • Thank you John for bringing out this issue to public attention. Yes, killing innocent animals for fur is a MURDER. There are artificial vegie furs that look alike and noone's life is taken away in producing these. Animal fur must be BANNED and the garment industries should stop producing the fur garments right away. We must love the animals as one of our own - they experience love and pain the way we do. We have no right to take away their life.

PLEASE BE VEG, GO GREEN. SAVE OUR PLANET.

  • thanks john, i remember that fox too...

  • thank you so much john for bringing light to this subject.

  • thank u 4 this video!i'm fighting for a lot of time the animal cruelty.this is precious!

  • To see John speak from his heart like this touches me and causes me to educate my self about this matter as well. I ask you to do the same.

God bless you John. I miss you brother.

  • Nothing is more powerful than an individual acting out of his conscience, thus helping to bring the collective conscience to life -Norman Cousins-

  • I can't beleive just two days ago i was working on a film with you. If only i knew you fealt the exact same way i did when i saw earthlings i would have had a few more nice words to say. thank you for this video!!!

  • Wonder if John realizes how many thousands of adoptable animals PETA euthanizes every year at their shelter in Norfolk?

  • Thankyou john, if only more celebs cared like you do, but they are all too selfish...thankyou thankyou.

  • not all of them : Alec Baldwin (Narrated 'Meet your Meat') and Joaquin Phoenix ('Earthlings', mentioned in this vid.) are strong animal activists.

John thought we were nuts... until he sat down and looked at the situation at hand and saw some investigation videos. I feel this same action would change the lives of most people... if they just set back, killed their biases, and looked at what's going on, ya know.

  • wow i have fallen in love with john all over again and yes if only more people gave a shit about these poor defenceless animals who die for the bullshit purpose of stupid bitches that wear fur!!! FUR IS MURDER!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a touching video, John is right those poor animals shouldn 't die in that way. I love you JRS:-)

  • Thanks John, for your honesty and compassion ;)

  • ....thanks

  • Just like if you were skinned while conscious -- you would die but not instantaneously.

  • how come the fox is still alive when they take it's fur?

  • Unless we are raised with this knowledge, we don't know - it's a well kept secret about where our food, pets and clothing come from. Once you are aware, it becomes a responsibility to help inform others. Thanks for posting this ! I wish all human beings could watch Earthlings.... it truly is life altering.

  • Hey John we are having a big Anti fur protest the day after Thanksgiving in NYC. We would love you to be there for the Animals. It would help us get the compassionate word out. Please Please contact me

  • There re abortion videos too on the net. That will piss you off also.

  • Yes, but killing cute little seal pups or foxes are more barbaric than acid burning alive a baby inside its mother... you can't hear it screaming as its skin is fried until it dies. Or when they are quartered alive. Or big deal about sticking scissors in the back of their heads, then sucking out their brain as it clutches fists in agony with its feet inches from the floor (and life) .... sorry Mr. Schnieder, big fan for decades, but humans butchering babies is higher priority...........

  • animal rights takes nothing away from human rights, in fact it is the most supportive step to both one can take. Open your mind and your eyes.
