LIke many other comments, I thought the tone was nice but the timing was off. Bad isn't a difficult tune to play with the left hand but keeping the tempo with the right hand and the dotted eights is everything. If you haven't already, check out U2 Guitar Tutorials. The guy who does that - I think his name is Michael - breaks down the tempo with and without the delay. It really helped me nail the Bad sound. Cheers!
Great sound. In my setup I use 2 Korg SDD3000's, along with a full stereo setup amp-wise. You got that 'scratch' sound pretty nice though. When I first was learning this, I ended up using the pick backward (Jim Dunlop 1mm's with the rough side used to pick). Wasn't until I read an article about 5 years later and found Edge did that with his Delrin picks anyway, by that time it was my natural playing style as well!!!
The PODxt Pro is being used for the Amp sim (Vox AC-30) and the compression effect (Vintage Dyna Comp sim). Then I have an Eventide Eclipse in the FX loop of the PODxt Pro...this is set to the vintage DDL (440ms, 4 repeats, and the modulation set at 4.8Hz with a medium depth...set to taste). Hope that helps!
yeah, just work on your timing man, otherwise your tone is about as close I've heard to Edge's for Bad during the '80's, almost dead-on for UF tour IMHO (the holy grail tone for me). The lack with of mids with the CS69's makes those pups perfect for getting that sound I think!
I dont think any of us have been talking about using 2 delays. I am only using one delay in that clip and its set to 440ms! Thanks for confirming the setup though!!
Great mastery of the delay man...I agree with DanEcho, your delay sounded the closest to the Edge. May I know your settings exactly sir for your rig...
Thanks for the info bro. What I would suggest is to hit the bottom note on the 12th fret just a little sooner than you are, as well as when it comes to the second part, where you end it with the two notes ringing, I only ever hit those two notes 4 times in total. It seems you are hitting it an extra 5th time, also, slow down the tempo a tad at which you hit those two notes, and the delay will do the work for you.
Your timings a little off, but otherwise, I actually think your delay settings have sounded the closest to the real thing from all other videos I've seen. What exactly were all the settings on your delay to get'r like this??
Thanks for the comment. My timing was definately off towards the end when I played on the high E and B strings...oh well. I recorded this clip with my PODxt Pro and my Eventide Eclipse for the delay. I had the delay set to about 440ms with about 4 repeats, and I had the modulation set for the "sine" wave mixed in about 0.9 on the elipse. I will check all the settings when I get home and post them later. Thanks again.
Nice tone! Is it a MIM or a MIA Strat?

Not a bad job mate. Timing out a touch but the general delay structure is pretty good. Nice.

Great Job??!!, Perfect delay setting?!....you amaze me?!!
What a Jerks....this cover stinks...too much delay echo....and the guy doesn't know what he is doing in the arppegio...
The timming is completely lost ....no secuence of striking strings....
All togheter at least is only noise....
He is more worried in how to move himself that in playing the right notes
Total mess of a great song

your timing is off on the high E and A notes. You play them a half beat too late.
